haha. I didn't know any of that about New Jersey, but again, I've only visited a few times.

Come to think of it, I don't think I know that many facts about ANY state...

Great list!

#11...are you sure? The report I read showed Wis as being #1 in cran production, followed by Mass. Seriously, I'd gladly trade you all of them for the blueberries. ;)

Sounds like a pretty diverse place! And yeah, I'd like to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. :D

I've never been to New Jersey sounds like a lovely place. :D

Hi, neighbor! I live in the also-much-aligned other NYC suburb: Long Island. Didn't know about the racehorses, but I'm pretty familiar with all those other interesting tidbits.

Happy TT!

Basically, all I've seen of NJ, is the airport in Newark. I used to go to NYC all the time, and it was often cheaper to fly into Newark.

And you have the highest property taxes? How does that make sense?

As a Jersey girl who was born and raised there, I both love and hate it. The cost of living was the main reason we moved to Atlanta. The cost of a house here is almost exactly HALF of that in Jersey. You can get a house selling for 300 grand there for 150 here, and your taxes will probably be only $1-2,000!

But boy, DO I miss the shore. We're so far inland it takes three hours to get to the ocean. I used to just hop in the car at be at Point Pleasant beach in 45 minutes.

That's the truth about the tomatoes. There's nothing like a Jersey beefsteak tomato.

Believe it or not, I miss the diners too. All of them aren't good, but there are some that have incredible food, like Sherban's in South Plainfield and the Warinaco Diner in Linden.

Oh, well. Enough reminiscing -- I'm an ATL girl now.

Hooray for NJ! One of those states where I've never lived and have visited rarely ... but one of my childhood best friends lives there!

You didn't mention my favorite native Jersyman--Jon Stewart :)

I'm from the Southwest so you're all just one big ball of "big smelly cities where everything is too close together" out there to me ;)

My Dh knows one of the biggest blueberry farmers in NJ. And since we live here too, we know this list all to well.

UGH the auto insurance...

Lis said...

Okay I didn't know half of those people were from NJ! *g*
