Thursday Thirteen #23

Thirteen Nicknames
for My Hubby
******************************************

1….Pookie **this started when we first dated. But then my college roommates found out and started calling my hubby (then boyfriend) that, too. They used it so much that when they were in my wedding party they forgot what his real name was!

2....Pook **short for Pookie.

3....Hunna Bunna **what I came up with after my roommates overtook Pookie. But when I called my hubby that (loudly) in record store, he decided we needed to come up with something less... embarrassing.

4....Bun **short for Hunna Bunna

5....Sweetie

6....Tweetie **a variation we use when we really want to soften each other up.

7....Shirky

8....Sheik** Hubby was called this around his office. Sheik/Shirk.

9....Daddy

10....Dad Pa ** We got this variation from my daughter's Leap Frog game. Long story.

11....Rock Strongo** Uh, another long story, reserved for when my hubby comes home from the gym. But essentially it's derived from The Simpsons.

12....Uncle Stu** Our niece and nephew called him that for a long time--even though his name is NOT Stu. But I think they got it from the Rugrats.

13....Junior Assistant** My hubby and his brother are equal business partners, but it's been a running joke in the family that because the hubby's younger, he's the junior assistant.

Very cute, Jen! Though I don't dare post the nicknames I have for my dh. (They're not PG rated. LOL!)

I don't have nicknames for my husband, but my family deserves a medal for creating them. I don't know whether my father or my mother started it, but they added an "i", a "y" or an "ie" on the end of our names. I'm the only one with a full nickname (Chicki), and my sister escaped because her name, Shari, already ended with an "i." The best of the family became:
Thomas (Dad) = Tommy
Georgianna (Mom) = Georgie
Kevin = Kevy
Steven = Stevie
Tashika (Kevy's daughter) = Tashi

How cute! I don't think I can think of 13 things I call my hubby! At least nothing that's interesting! ;o) Have a great day!

Hah! I called mine Pookie Bear until a friend overheard. Then it was transformed to Big Daddy...cause I was 'told' he's the man. I didn't realize how serious he was until one day my cell phone rang and the caller id had been programmed with his number to show as Big Daddy! LOL

LOL Um, those are good. My hubby's Big Matt. That only came around after Jr. was born. Otherwise, sad, but we don't use them too often... unless we're in a mood and goofing around. *cough* you know.

Nope, just boring "honey" when I'm happy with him. I have lots of nicknames I never say out loud for the hubby when I'm mad. ;)

Cute TT!

I sent it twice. Sorry.

Cute TT. Nicknames are pretty much reserved for the kids here. Frog-face, Monkey-child. DH maybe gets a sweetie or a hon, but not often. It's rare if he calls me by any either. *shrug*

Mine's up this week at: http://impulsivehearts.wordpress.com

Hmmm...doubt if I could come up with 13 of these...but it would be fun to try!

I never thought about all the nicknames I have for my hubby. Among them are Clark (as in Kent), Mr. Jeffie, and Mr. T.
