A Walk on the Wild Side (for exactly 2 minutes)
MENTAL STATUS: "Alert". Got plenty of rest this weekend on the beach.
This weekend at the beach was like Marine Biology 101 for the kids. The water has been unseasonably frigid, so not too many people could go swimming. There was a lot of seaweed and mussel shells washing up on the beach too, which added to the miserable swimming conditions.
BUT... boy, the kids were finding all kinds of cool stuff on the shore. Namely, a few starfish, some jelly fish, a big spider crab, a horseshoe crab, and a small shark. Pretty cool!
Maybe that's why we went out for sushi that night for dinner. Hmmm. Not sure.
Anyway, I wanted to tell you about my walk on the wild side. We had a dinner to go to Sunday at the Yacht Club in town. It's there that I made a small confession to my neighbors. I confessed that I was thinking about getting my nose pierced. WHAT???? (I hope my mom's not reading this) Yes, it's true. Nothing big and loopy, mind you. Just a small diamond chip or something. You know, pretty.
Well, I made the mistake of then asking my friends what they thought about that and if I should do it or not. I got FIVE "no ways", one "yes", and a "do what you want" from my hubby. **sigh** Not good.
I have to admit I was slightly crushed with the outcome. Needless to say, I will not get it done. Oh well. It was just a thought. (A pretty cool thought, though) There. That was my short walk on the wild side until it was snatched away from me and trampled on.
Have you ever wanted to get a tattoo or your nose pierced?

Never been tempted to get anything other than my ears pierced. Tatoos give me the creeps unless they're on a big, masculine bicep. :)
But I DO think A LOT about plastic surgery. If I had the money, I'd go for one of those extreme makeovers -- you know -- boob job, tummy tuck, face lift, butt lift. LOL! The only thing that scares me is the recovery period. I hear it's really painful, and I don't do pain well at all ...
I would love to get the diamond chip, too. My neighbor down the street is a year older than me, got divorced and got the chip and two tasteful tattoos.
If I was younger and slim, I would get a tattoo, too, I think.
During an 18 year old rebellious stage I got a tat with an old boyfriend. Yeah, definitely regretting that. I thought it was a cool moon with a fog cloud wrapped around it. Being the straight-laced kid I was didn't realize it was "purple haze". UGH. I'm saving my pennies to get it removed one day before my kids understand what it means! Definitely a huge regret, but I don't think I would regret it at all if I had taken the time to do my own drawing of a butterfly or dragon fly or something. I was just in a hurry to prove my mother that I could do what I wanted to!
As far as a nose ring, I say go for it. At least there's no lasting noticeable marks if you decide you don't want it anymore. I think you would look good with one! And it's super cool that your hubby doesn't mind!
I haven't done tattoos, but I did get my bellybutton pierced when I was 30 seven years ago. The thing is, I think when we're young we never stop to think that we'll have these things on our bodies when we're old and toothless. Can you imagine an old granny with a radical tattoo? I can, and it tickles me. However, I fully intend to wear my bellybutton bar well into old age.
My neighbor came over to my house and yelled at me over my dog!
I have a dog that I can't keep in my yard. I have tried everything and she always finds a way out. Anyway, this lady comes to my home, knocks on my door and when i open the door she points her finger at me and yells obscenities at me. Apparently my dog was in HER neighbors garbage and then pooped on HER NEIGHBORS LAWN! Why didn't she come and talk to me like a civil human being? Why was she a vicious monster attacking me at my door? I calmly went over to HER NEIGHBORS house where the garbage was and picked up every piece, and the dog poop. I agree that I have that responsibility to clean up after my dog. The one thing I don't agree upon is someone coming to my house and screaming in my face about something I didn't know about. Is anyone out there been blessed with a psyco-neighbor?
I don't think anyone remembers the golden rule...Do unto others as you would want done unto you!
I sent them a lovely card from this site I found...www.URAJerk.com
