Getting Back to Business

IN THE NEWS: "Police in Port St. Lucie are on the lookout for a cross-dressing man who snatched a 74-year-old woman's purse. As if that weren't odd enough, they're depending on a strange clue. The suspect left behind a condom filled with water he had been using as a fake breast." Read more HERE.

The first day of school was a huge success! At the end of the day, the kiddo ran off the bus and said, "First grade is way easier than Kindergarten!"

Hmm... Okaaaaaay.

She obviously had a good day. But I can't tell you how much the kiddo LOVES school. Well, actually I can. A little less than five hours after she'd gotten home and was getting ready for bed, she mumbled, "I can't wait for school tomorrow."

Sheesh. What an overachiever.

But who knows? Maybe she too can be grow up and be like Sarah Palin. (I have to admit--and it happens rarely--I was a little "star struck" last night) I'm already looking for my own PTA registration form. :)

Anyhew, on the writing front, I'm a little disorganized right now. (Big surprise) I desperately need to find a way to get back into my character's head, I've got advertising features I need to work on, I'm in search of old RWA conference notes that I can't find right now, and I have a crit due for one of my critique partners.

Sigh. At least I can boast that my house is clean. :)

I'm off to assemble some sort of schedule now and figure out how I can accomplish all the above before 3 o'clock. Eeep.

Oh. And if you're around the computer on Saturday afternoon, I'll be blogging more about "back to school feelings" on the Samhain Weblog. Also, I'll be posting a picture of my kiddo's newest fashion statement: the "Ho-Hat".

Have a great weekend!

I have a crapload of writing stuff to do, too. Crits, contest entries to judge, pages to write, etc.

We can do this. I know we can.

When you get back into your characters head, let me know. I'm having a bit of the same issue with a book I put away and now coming back to. And your "in the news" thing was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing.
