No No NaNo

MENTAL STATUS: "Fuzzy". Read through and edited ELEVEN chapters of my recently completed manuscript so far.

On the personal front, I'm visiting Mom today. She wants to show me a lamp for my kitchen. I can read her like... well, like a book. I think she wants the lamp to be one of my Christmas presents. (Shhhh...)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the writing front, I'm almost ready to start submitting my story. (yippee!) And once that happens, I'll obviously be starting a new story.
You know, with everybody doing NaNoWriMo around me, I feel a little "left in the dust". Hardly anyone is around to play with me anymore. They're all too busy "writing". Huh. Excuse me.
It's way too late for me to register and start. But even if it wasn't, I'm not so sure I could. I do like challenges, but I don't do well under pressure for too long. I would snap.
(Hey, but that's just me)
However, I am interested in doing a short 2 week challenge with my crit partners--if they're interested. Just to give me a quick kick in the pants. We'll see.
Are you doing NaNo?
A two-week challenge, huh? I'm game if I can use HOLLYWOOD SWINGING. Shoot me an e-mail with your ideas or post the challenge on the group.
I'm doing the nano but I'm cheating. I'm using a unfinished book that only has 50-75 pages to go...shhhhh
I've never done NaNo and don't think I'd do well with it. Also November isn't a good month for me to do it.
I'm doing NaNo the unofficial version.
Meaning I'm trying the challenge but I refuse to sign up and get sucked into the craziness. I can already tell you that I'm way off where I should be if I were really doing NaNo but I feel pretty good about where I am.
What's the challenge?
I'm game. I signed up for NaNo but didn't follow through. Every time I sit down at the computer...I end up opening a crit instead. *sigh* Things are crazy here but I need a really BIG kick in the butt.
I'm not doing NaNo either - it was just more than I could commit to. A mini challenge would be great though!
Na-na-na-na----NO!
As in, more pressure than I could handle with edits, cover info forms etc.
But I'd be in for a mini-nan! =)
YOU GO GIRL!! Editing 11 chapters is beyond awesome! I NaNoed last year and won. Still haven't finished that one though *scratches head* I'm writing this year on the misguided premise that I'll finish LOL Hey, if you do the 2 week challenge, holla at me! My crit partner and I would love to join in, if you have room.
I usually love NaNo, and am participating, but this year it's a struggle between getting sick and my DH taking off 90% of the month as vacation. Ugh.
