Don't Recognize Myself

MENTAL STATUS: "Confused". (See below)

Well, the reason I was "out of the office" yesterday was because I had an all day marathon hair appointment. I think I was there like 4 hours. Anyhew, I'm not quite looking like myself anymore.
In fact, I'm not blonde any longer...

I now have brown hair. (with a few gold streaks) **cough cough**

Don't ask me why I decided to change how I looked. Felt like it? Tired of seeing dark roots? Boredom?

Whatever. The hubby and kiddo seem somewhat unaffected. But I cannot get used to how I look at all. My hair looks so dark, I'm seeing streaks of black in it. Maybe it's my eyes. I'm still going through the adjustment period.

(The jury is obviously still out.)

Today I will try not to stare at myself in the mirror and just work on editing one of my chapters. We'll see how that goes.

When was the last time you did something drastic to your hair?

I'm always changing my hair. My family is so used to it, they don't even comment anymore unless the style is so outrageous they can't hold their comments in!

You have to post a pic so we can see what the "new" you looks like.

The last time I did something drastic with my hair was right before Thanksgiving, when I too, became no longer blonde. I swore I could see black streaks in it too. I'm still not 100% used to it.

Pics please!

I'm telling you, it looks great! I don't have to see it to know!!! The jury is done deliberating woman!

Twice I whacked off 99% of my hair for "Locks of Love" -- went from hair below my shoulders to hair well above my ears. THAT was weird.

And, back in the day (when I was, yanno, YOUNG) I used to color my hair something different on a monthly basis. I loved the different look. Nowadays I'm just too lazy to keep up with it, so I just "wash away the gray".

So, do you like the brown? I hardly do anything with my hair. Once I tried blonde but it looked hideous with my complexion. I'll never do that again! LOL

I put bright pink streaks in my dark hair last year. That took some getting used to, although I really liked it. I went to the hairdresser yesterday too. Covering up the grey hair. Le sigh!!

Right before Halloween, when I tried to go auburn and it came out more burnt orange. On top of that, most of the back fell out (I didn't think it was rinsed thoroughly!) and at the next appt, I had to go short.

But there's a silver lining. The shorter hair has helped me to exercise more regularly in the mornings without having to worry about or fret with my hair afterward. Now it's more manageable (and the color got fixed!). I can blowdry and run.

I bet it looks terrific.

I have brown hair with some gray. I haven't changed my hair color for over thirty years. I suppose when I get more gray, I might decide to color my hair.
