Good News/Bad News

IN THE NEWS: "Conn. woman bitten after 'bite me' remark." Read more HERE.

Yay! It's Friday! And what's better than having a whole Friday to write? A whole Friday to READ, of course! And I just got my recent Amazon order. :)

I'm really excited! (Can you tell?)

In fact, here's what I ordered:

She's All That--by Kristin Billerbeck. (Christian chick-lit) She's a new author to me. I just felt like trying someone new. The book looks really cute!

and

Save the Date by Tamara Summers (YA) Another new author for me. I wanted something fun and lighthearted.

Let's see... Not counting these two new books, I have 2 print books and 2 e-books books still in my TBR pile. Personally, I think that's a pretty manageable pile (especially heading into summer).

(PS. That was the rationalization to myself for buying more books.)

That's the GOOD NEWS.

Now the BAD NEWS:

I also got my Mango Pitter delivered to me with that order. That should be good news, right? Well...I think I might have developed an allergy to mangoes. Nooooooooo!

(PS. This is really bad news because I really love mangoes)

Anyhew, I'm off to write or plot (haven't decided). Then read.

If you have time this weekend...or NOW check out this link:

Author Diana Palmer talks about being published. It's a really an interesting video.

Have a great weekend!

I haven't read any of Kristen Billerbeck's stuff, but sure want to. YA is not something I usually read, but after Twilight, my interest has picked up.

I can't believe that video was filmed at one of my local libraries, Fayette County. They have a huge room with a nice view that's great for author events.

Enjoy your reading! I just started a new Suzanne Brockmann book, and will blog about LOVER AVENGED on Monday.

Oh, no, Jennifer. To not be able to eat mangoes wouldn't be nice. I love them when just ripe, but not too ripe. Very picky I know.

I have waaaay more books on my TBR pile I'm embarrassed to say. You definitely needed that order, girl!

Allergic to mangoes...curious about your symptoms and I'm not even a nurse. Just curious. :D
Happy Reading!

Awww! I was excited for you to get your mango pitter. I hope you're not allergic to mangoes!

I got my order from Amazon, too. 1001 Ways to Market Your Book by John Kremer. I'd much rather be reading fiction :)

Have a great weekend!

Cindy: OOh, you'll have to let me know how that book is!

Wendy: My symptoms are breakouts all over my face--and little red bumps on my forehead. Crazy stuff because I SO do NOT break out. I'm trying to tell if it's the mangoes (which I've been eating a lot of) OR my moisturizer.

Allergy to mangoes? Oh my sympathies! I love em.

Oh no, it stinks developing allergies to things you didn't used to be allergic to - especially if it's something you love! Maybe it was just one bad mango - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, and in the meantime enjoy those books!

Wow, I can't believe your to-read pile is that small. I'm almost drowning under mind! Have a fun weekend. :)

Awww you poor thing! Maybe you're not really allergic to the mangoes. Maybe it's just something a particular batch was treated with or something.

Thanks for the link to that video. It was great. She really gives some advice that goes against a lot of what I've heard.
