Camping Recap
MENTAL STATUS: "Refreshed". Amazing what sleeping in your own bed does for your mood.
Okay, I am now feeling MUCH better after my ordeal--er, camping trip.
We were in Maryland--not at a camping ground but a friend's grandmother's land. It was beautiful there as you'll be able to tell from the scenery. But it rained almost all day when we got there. It stopped on and off with some sun just enough to allow the kids to swim and play outside. But the rain created LOTS of mud. Like I said yesterday, the ground was a complete "swamp".
There was around 30 of our friends there. That combined with the fact that the kids were so happy to be there made the weekend "survivable".
(Our tent)
(The ground where we had our tents and where we had to walk around. The only time my feet were dry was when I was sleeping. If I thought my pedicure was ruined before this, well, I was sadly mistaken)
(The camping area)
(kids going on a little boat ride)
Looks good, right? Well, besides it raining on Saturday when we got there, it being a total SWAMP, the good size spiders in the grass, my hubby and kiddo snoring on either side of me, the air mattress killing my back, my feet in constant mud and water, the mosquitoes, the Porta-potty, and some unidentifiable rash on my ankle I now have, I would say it was a delight.
PS. That's sarcasm LOL!
Anyhew, I learned a few things from this trip.

You're a good mommy - and a better woman than I am. When my daughter wanted to go camping, I let her join the Girl Scouts. They took her ... :)
The things we do for our children. LOL
I agree with Chicki. You seem like a very good mom. :-)
That looks like torture to me. lol
Sounds horrible - you were a brave soul! I thought I was a good camper when we went and I was pregnant. It was so primitive but hubby laughed when I mentioned that fact.
You are a great sport and a sweet wife and mom, Jennifer.
May the Lord reward you for setting aside your own desires to help others be happy, and may you get a pedicure that stays pretty! And may Jesus return before the next time of camping...
Blessings,
Jen
That's exactly why I sent my hubby camping with the boys instead of us going altogether! :)
i'm way too girlie to enjoy any of the aforementioned camping activities. i value my pedicure in an unhealthy way. i don't like to sweat or be too cold. just a few degrees off and i'm miserable (so feel sorry for me having moved back to 100+ degree mississippi from 60-degree CA weather). so my hat is off to you for doing this in the first place. amazing. :)
Great pics and yeah, it was a probably a little too muddy for my taste...but what a trooper you are!
You are a great sport. The things we do for our kids. :) I'll be going that route soon.
Way to go you! You survived!!! Looks like a ton of fun!
You're a riot.
Tell me...did YOU hunt for frogs? :)
You know, it wasn't waterboarding, but it was torture. LOL
Jeanette: I can only pray that Jesus does come back before the next camping trip!
Cyn: Ha! No frog hunting was on my agenda. But neither was the entire camping trip.
Awww, great pictures! It almost makes sleeping in a tent sound fun and exciting instead of like an electricity-free nightmare;)
I gave up camping years ago but still have wonderful memories. But like you, I hated the rainy trips! Give me dry all the time!
