WIP #10

MENTAL STATUS: "Focused". Been really trying not to dilly-dally with my writing goal.

First off let me say that the lovely and talented Allie Boniface was kind enough to invite me over for an interview at her blog today and I QUICKLY accepted. :)

If you're interested in learning more about... uh, well, me * grin *then come check it out HERE.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now back to my WIP progress...
It's been hard to shut off the old internal editor--mostly because I have such a strong willed one--but I have to say I've been successful thus far.
I haven't been thinking much. I've just been "doing".
And here's what I got "done":
44256 / 50000 words. 89% done!
Woo-hoo! Quite a jump, eh? That's right. I'm up 7%. You can't get that kind of return on a mutual fund investment right now. (Okay. Actually, I'm not really sure about that, so don't quote me) LOL!
I was really trying to squeeze out a little more to make it an even 90%, but then other duties called. Oh, well. Technically, I have until the 19th to reach my goal. And I can't complain about my progress.
Isn't it amazing what you can get done when you put yourself under pressure? :)
So how much progress did you make on your WIP?
Go, go go! You'll be finished by the 19th.
I posted my progress on my blog today. Not what I'd hoped. Life keeps getting in the way ...
BTW - got your email. Will respond later.
Another BTW -- are you on Twitter?
Woo-hoo!! It IS amazing what we can accomplish! I'm currently getting up at 7:00 AM every day instead of sleeping in (7 sounds late to some people, but I'm more of a night gal), and boy is it paying off. I'm almost finished with round 1 revisions.
Keep going--you can finish by the 19th!
Thanks, ladies!
Good for you, Jill!
Nadia: Ugh. No. Don't say the "T" word. I'm insane enough. LOL!
Sounds like you powered through! Way to go! I'm in the 30,000 range, hoping to get up to 70,000 range by end of summer...I'll need to power through here soon!
Congrats Jennifer! I love how you set a goal and march steadily toward it.
When you're done, how much revision do you do?
Congrats to you, but I don't want to talk about me.
Seriously, I'm in editing mode and it's driving me crazy with how slow it is progressing.
But way to go, Jennifer!! Keep it up!
89% is awesome! Wow, you work really well under pressure! I try to give myself deadlines, but since they are all just made up and based on nothing solid it is hard to stick to them.
Patricia: Ya know, revision really depends. I'm usually a sloooow writer so I usually spend less time in edits because of that, but since I'm flying through the end here I'm thinking revisions will take me much longer.
All right, great progress. I'm plugging away slowly but surely. I need to start getting up early again, like Jill so have alone time to write.
Popping over from Kate's blog. I just have to give you a huge "Wahoo!" for being so close to the end, and for gagging that internal editor (pesky buggers, aren't they?).
I totally agree with you about putting yourself under pressure, but not so much you're left a quivering ball of stress huddling in the corner. It's a fine line. :)
But joining this WIP Wednesday thing has helped me be accountable (in a way).
Keep going!
