More This and That

IN THE NEWS: Maine pound shows off rare orange, live lobsters. Read more HERE.

DISCLAIMER: This is the part of the blog where I really ramble on about what's happening in my life now.

1) I'm judging my RWA chapter contest now, so if any of my crit partners are reading this, don't expect a critique from me any time soon. :)

2) I am sunburned. Somehow even with my huge hat (with flower), sunblock 70, and my beach cover-up, I managed to miss an eight inch long line on my right leg. Ow!

3) My house is a mess. It was so clean for last week's "cousin's weekend" and now it looks like it's been bombed by a garbage truck. Well, maybe that's exaggerating. So let's say, it looks like it's been bombed by a small garbage truck.

4) I'm thinking about getting a warming oven for my kitchen. The problem is I don't know where to put it.

5) I have been reading the same book for the last three weeks which is SO not like me. I usually can devour a 300 page book in about 2 or 3 days. Right now, I'm still on page 29. I'm giving it a few more days then I might have to start a new book.

6) Got some sad personal news last night, but I'm trying to not let it affect my attitude.

7) During last week's time off from blogging I was able to spend some great quality time with the kiddo. We even started working on a summer reading schedule for her.

8) I need a haircut--DESPERATELY--but have not had time to go--or even make an appointment. How sad is that?

9) My mom is coming to visit tomorrow. I'm going to take her to the boardwalk and maybe play some mini golf.

Whew! That's it for me.

What's going on with you?

Wow, you have a ton going on.
Not so much here. Just the daily grind. LOL

Sorry about the sunburn and bad news. :-( As for your house, well, I'd put the kiddos to work. Isn't that what kids are for? *snicker*

Have fun with your mom. :-)

I blogged this morning about my uneventful summer. Yawn ...

Have you considered having kiddo participate in any of the reading programs sponsored by Pizza Hut, Chick-Fil-A, Applebee's, Barnes & Noble? They give away some good prizes. My grands do it every summer.

I'm spazzing out about going to RWA Nationals next week. My book is not completely revised, which stresses me out on every level. My house is strewn with every item we own. If I don't get highlights in my hair this week, I'll be impossible to live with. And I'm not even going to think about getting groceries this afternoon or I'll need therapy.

Have a good one!

I can sooo sympathize with your sunburn! My family went canoeing a couple of months ago and I came back with tie-die skin!!! lol I was soooo blotchy...to funny!

As for my week...I will FINISH my first WIP! By Friday. I have said it out loud and am being held accountable and it WILL be done! :)

You are busy, busy, busy. Makes me feel better about my list of things to do today.

Hope your mom's visit goes well.

Glad you're back! Missed you! Summer's are such a wonderfully chaotic time, aren't they?

You're definitely keeping busy! I am sorry to hear about the sad news but I hope you enjoy the time with your mother.

Wow sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now, but I am glad you are back online and blogging again!

I hear you on the sunburn, I always manage to miss some part of my body and end up with weird red stripes or spots somewhere.

Just life as normal for me - a neverending stream of washing with some writing thrown in there. :)

Ouch on the sunburn. It's always frustrating to miss a spot with the suntan lotion.
