Wednesday WIP #13

MOOD STATUS: "Upbeat". (Despite the cloudy day) :)

Ooops. I guess I've been slacking off on the old WIP Wednesday.

But I have been making progress! Truly and for sure!

For instance, I not only have a finished synopsis, but an edited synopsis as well. That's right, folks. I'm feeling pretty confident with it, too. Of course, my story isn't done, but at least I know how it turns out now.

Pssst. There's a happy ending.

Anyhew...

I've been making a little progress on actually finishing the story as well. In fact, I added 1,000 words to a new chapter, but then I lost words when I went back and re-read the prior two chapters. (Oooh, I hate when that happens.)

So basically my progress bar looks kind of bleak. (But moving to the right!)

46756 / 50000 words. 94% done!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In other news, I got the first half of my advance from Avalon Books the other day. Yay!! I'm thinking of spending part of it on a new website. Not sure, but I'll keep you posted. :)
How's your progress coming along?
Jennifer, 94% is great! Progress is progress. I haven't even attempted a synopsis on my book yet. It intimidates me! lol
YAY on the $$$. And also you are doing great on your wordcount! Good mood here today too. Had an agent request a full after sending a better query:)
Wow, that is fantastic (the progress and the royalties). I think I'm at about 1% right now. I need to get some serious work done!
26,000 words in. Going for at least 85,000. Goal was to have first draft done by spring. Christmas is now more likely. Woo Hoo.
Slow and steady wins the race - HA! Actually, I hope to be finished by the New Year!
Awesome, Wendy!!
Beth: If I don't finish this book by New Year's, I give someone permission to slap me. LOL
Congrats on the moolah! I am quite impressed that you have completed the synopsis. I have such a hard time with those. And as long as your progress bar is moving in the right direction, I'd say you are doing something right.
My progress is okay. I tried to fix my synopsis and now I need to tweak a query. *shudder*
Have fun with the advance! :-)
yeah advance!!! I think a website is a great idea. I really believe in taking the money I earn from writing and putting some of it back into my writing.
I would love to start doing the WIP Wednesdays over on my blog. Do you "host" it? I have seen it on other blogs. I don't want to "steal" your thing though. I hope it is ok if I do it as well. Please let me know if I am out of line and I will take it down from my blog!
Thanks!!
YEA for progress on the meter! Even if it's only a little bit. Congrats!
Congrats on finishing the synopsis. Sometimes they seem harder to write than the book, summarizing effectively with so few words. And congrats too on the advance, very exciting!
Whooo on the progress! Even though I've read the synopsis, I can't wait to also read the actual ending when you write it.
Yay for you! I still have a requested complete at Avalon...but it's only been since May. Why does it seem like longer?
I didn't post my WIP Wednesday entry either.
Glad to hear you got your money.
Sounds like you are doing GREAT! Things are definitely moving in the right direction (even your wordbar...) :O)
That progress bar looks awesome to me. I really need to get back into my story. Right after I get those proposals out for an older story that's finished. Hopefully by Monday I'll be back on a roll with TUO.
