WOF Conference recap
MOOD STATUS: "Happy". Had a fantastic weekend with the mom, with friends at the conference, and then home with the family.
Hey! I'm back!
Can I tell you how much fun I had at the Women of Faith conference?
Whoops. I guess I just did.
But I really did have THE best time. I laughed, I cried--and was totally BLOWN AWAY by the awesome voice of Mandisa! Do you remember her from American Idol? I honestly don't think I gave her talent enough credit on the show, because not only does she have a powerful voice but a beautiful soft range voice as well. She rocked the house!
The one speaker I truly wanted to hear was Lisa Harper. (I did a review for her book, A Perfect Mess last month). She's so funny and doesn't hide the fact that's she's 46 and not married (although still looking). She was the first speaker and really got the crowd pumped by coming out to Beyonce's "Single Ladies". That cracked me up!
Anita Renfroe was hilarious--and did her famous "Mom Song". Shown below.
And actually her song "Don't Breathe" had me crying from laughter. The video that goes with it really makes it.
Marilyn Meberg--at age 70--was great! And I thought Sheila Walsh and Lisa Whelchel shared compelling stories as well. Most importantly is was wonderful to share this time with friends--or "faith sisters" as I like to call them.
I've been to women/faith retreats before but this was my first Women Of Faith Conference. (Hopefully not my last!) I couldn't believe the stadium was almost sold out. It was really a neat experience. But it's nice to be back home.
Have you ever been to Women of Faith?

OH, MY. Goodness! I loved the Anita Renfroe you tube song!!! I wonder how long it took her to memorize that? It is one long momism! too, too, too funny. Thanks for making me laugh on a Monday morning, Jennifer.
I'm so happy for you that you got to attend the WOF conference.
I knew you'd have a wonderful time! Mandisa has a fabulous voice, and I'm glad she's still using it to glorify God.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I love Anita Renfroe. She has come to our church before to perform--sooo funny.
Nothing better than a fantastic conference - glad you had such a wonderful experience :)
Looks like you had a wonderful time! And that song is hilarious!!!
So glad you a wonderful time! :)
Wow, it sounds awesome! I hope I get to go to something like that someday. LOL
I'm so glad you had a great time. It sounds like it was wonderful. :)
Glad it was that great. I checked out Mandisa's profile and I'm so glad to see that she is using her gifts for God. I may want to check this conference out next time around.
Yay! So glad you had a spirit filled trip. What great motivation!!
I'm telling you Mandisa was jaw-droppingly good!
Her talent is a true gift. :)
What a blessing to be able to attend. Great that you had such a wonderful time. Have you ever read the books? I think the one I made it all the way through was titled Outrageous Joy. I was great. I laughed and cried with the woman's short stories.
How cool! I couldn't write novels when I was single. I don't know what that was about...it seems I have to be in a stable relationship before fiction will flow.
I saw Mandisa with Beth Moore once. She was incredible! It sounds like you had a great weekend!!
Oops - left comment on wrong day. It's been that kind of day.
Glad you had a great weekend!
I've never been. Sounds like it was even better than you could have hoped for. Awesome! :O)
You are brave to post your Mood Status. Mine would be too often "dark and hermity"
