For those on Facebook...

MOOD STATUS: "Thrilled". Family slept in and I had the morning to myself!
RECENT IPOD DOWNLOAD: "I Told You So" by Carrie Underwood

I love Facebook as much as the next person, but be safe and secure! Here's something you may not know:

Log in to your Facebook account and go to the top right hand corner "Account". Click "Edit Friends". It'll take you to your friends list. In the left hand column click "PhoneBook". Everyone's phone numbers are listed.

CHANGE THAT if you value your privacy.

Your phone number is there for the world to see. Go to your privacy settings and set your phone number and address to "only me" unless you want everyone to have it.

That is your public service announcement for the week.

You're welcome. :)

Thank you, went to FB, followed your steps, could not find "Only me" as on option??

Liza: Under "account" go to "privacy" settings then
click on "customize settings"
then you'll see a list of things you share.
Next to what you want to keep private you can click and scroll to "only me" there.
Any other questions, let me know. :)

Thanks for the tip. I think I took care of my privacy settings but I don't remember doing anything with phonebook. I'll double check. That is certainly something I don't want to share.

Will do! Thank you!

Great advice, I never know what's being shown and what isn't! I'll check this evening to make sure nothing personal is being shared with America!

Thanks for this, Jennifer. I put only my kids and agent to view it.

Thanks for the info! I try to be very good about keeping my information, photos, & personal profile page private. :)

I don't even put my phone number on there. Just to be on the even safer side. FB is always changing things and it screws up privacy settings. Great tip!

Yikes. I had no idea that was there. Thanks for the newsflash. And thank goodness I didn't give Facebook my phone number.

Great tips, especially considering how much we all use FB these days!
BTW, I just gave you a blogger award in my latest blog post. Congrats!

Wow, thanks. Mine didn't show up, nor my son's, but I switched everything to "Only Me" except my email address.

I've heard a ton of Facebook horror stories, so I'm leaving it off the agenda for now. Thanks for the words of warning!

WOW! I had no idea. Thankfully when I set up my account, I left my phone number out. I can't believe that! Thank you.
