A to Z Blogging Challenge: G is for...

Oh, my gosh. Is this blogging week over yet? Kidding!

Okay. Half kidding.

Anyhew...the fact that I'm scrambling to finish my WIP this month has made me focus on a very important G word.

Therefore, G is for: Goals!!

If you were with me in the beginning of the year, I blogged about my goals (NOT resolutions) but GOALS for the new year.

So let's take a stroll down memory lane all those... three and a half months ago and recap:

My PERSONAL GOAL: This year I took my exercise regime to a whole new level. The hubby and I started doing the P90X workout program at the start of the new year.

Where am I now with that goal? Well, I'm exactly TWO days from finishing the program. Then I'll be a P90 grad. And I'll arm wrestle anyone to prove it! LOL

My PROFESSIONAL GOAL: More D for discipline to get more writing done. Thus, I started the Book In 3 Months writing challenge in Feb. for a new story I'm plotting. My other goal was finish my manuscript Kissing Kendall. Both books I plan to have done and submitted by the end of the year.

Where am I with that? Well, I'm still in the Book in Three Month challenge, hoping to finish Kissing Kendall by the end of this month. Eeep. The other story I was working on I had to stop because of plot problems. But as soon as KK is done, I'll set it aside before editing, and try to work out what I did wrong with the other story. I still plan to finish both and have them submitted before the end of the year. Woot!

I LOVE goals. Have you noticed? :)

I love writing them down and seeing them before me to keep me focused. (I especially love when I reach those goals, but sometimes it doesn't happen) That's okay. Either way, I'm happy to just have the desire to dream.

How about you? Have you achieved any of your goals you've set so far?

Yes, I have achieved some goals, though I've taken many a crooked path. And wow! Your goal of 60 books is awesome. AND you've already read 20? AWESOME!

Great goal post!!
Sadly, goals for the new year were not well defined, so not much was accomplished. But I have been praying with a friend who is a life coach and we are are setting 30, 60 and 90 day GOALS... this is big for me, commitment phobe that I am.

Congratulations on keeping to yours. Really inspiring!

So far, I'm hitting each goal I've made for this year. I like to keep reminders out as well and if that isn't enough, I have a couple of friends that act as alarm bells in my ears! Congrats on becoming a P90 grad.

I'm pretty much failing at finishing my first draft this month. Ugh! Awesome job on the P90X!

Congratulations with your goals - you are doing really well!

My goal this year was to write my novel and that is what I'm in the process of doing.

I am thoroughly impressed, especially with the physical and mental discipline. I am an avid NaNoer and never fail. But I do struggle to find the motivation to keep the editing going at a quick pace. Great post!

You are awesome! I so admire people who set goals and keep to them.

My goal is to have a book contract by August, so I can attend the writers conference and just.have.fun. NO pressure.

Happy Weekend,
Jen

I love making goals, too. I like seeing my productivity!

I've been wanting to get P90X! It's expensive though. So for now I'll be sticking to my current workouts and will NOT be challenging you to an arm wrestling match, lol!

Without goals I'd never accomplish anything. They keep me going. Great post!

I finally achieved my goal of selling a book (two, in fact), so I'm pretty happy with my goal situation so far this year. Now my goal is to not drop the ball. :)

Great goals. I have never been a goal setter. This is my downfall I know but I just never get around to it. Maybe that will be my Goal :)

Hey, I almost blogged about goals today. Then I remembered how I'd have to talk about how I'm not really doing very well with those goals I set back at the beginning of the year...

I love to set goals. Yearly, monthly, weekly and daily some times. And sometimes, I even accomplish them.

I like 'em. Love 'em actually. Trouble is I write them in about one hundred different notebooks so I lose track of 'em.

Way to go on the books and the workouts.

Goals. The best is crossing them off the list when done:)

Happy A to Z Friday.

Such a great idea to write your goals down! I am going to make that one of my goals.

Sounds like you are doing great. I started P90X but didn't make it for long, I should try again. I am a big believer in goals as I make yearly and monthly goals. Great topic for today.

I love goals. I love setting goals. I love crossing goals off my list. A slip on the ice and now a side effect from chemo has hampered my goal of running a 5K in May....but I can still walk it! Good luck with your books.

I'm an inveterate list maker and list crosser-offer. So you could certainly say a lot of those are goal oriented - it gives me solidity in the universe to cross things off a list. Silly, but there you go. Great post! Cheers!

I am so glad you are moving ahead with your goals. You have such energy. It must be your exercising. I remember, you even blogged when you were sick. I remember, because I didn't. Hope you get both books done. I'm rooting for you.

Good luck with your Goal of completing your WIP. I have the same goal. I'm attending the NESCBWI conference in mid-May, and I'd like to be done with my manuscript before then.
