A to Z Challenge: Y is for...

I'm feeling rushed lately--rushed to finish my WIP, rushed to get painting and repairs around the house done, and now all of sudden Mother's Day is around the corner and I have no gifts for my mom or mother in-law.

So Y is for: yada yada.

Why yada yada?

Remember this term from Seinfeld? People were using yada yada to gloss over details of a story to get to the end. Well, I feel like that. All of a sudden I was finishing getting ready for Easter, I was working on my writing, I just put away the plastic eggs, and yada yada...

Mother's Day is in a week.

How did THAT happen? I have no gifts and no gift ideas for my mom OR mother-in-law so I'm scrambling today.

What are you getting your mother or mother-in-law for Mother's Day? Any ideas?

Flowers. I always give flowers on mom's day. And, of course, a call or a visit. My boys give me sweet gifts then we go mini golfing if it's nice out.

I did flowers. It's something both my mother and mother-in-law (both deceased now) appreciated.

Yaya yada. Life outside blogging and writing calls to us.

Have a peaceful weekend!

I know exactly how you feel Jennifer! Besides Mother's day, I have a bunch of birthdays in May. My daughter's is on the 5th and my granddaughter's is on the 10th, and smack dab in the middle is Mother's Day!
And there are more after mom's day...sister,niece,etc...

Flowers are always good for Mother's day.

I must get to my blog writing now, and then yada yada yada...

Have a great weekend!

How about a nice Spring scarf, one with a beautiful flower pattern on it?

Happy weekend to you!

My mother-in-law passed away about 12 years ago, but my mom is still going strong. I never know what to get her -- she always says, don't bother with gifts, and I always rack my brain trying to come up with something :(

Thanks for the reminder! Off to get cards!!

It did kind of sneak up on us, didn't it? I need to get out and pick up some cards.

I won't be getting a gift for my Mom as she passed away last year, but I'll be treasuring fond memories on Mother's Day. As for my mom-in-law, we'll take her to lunch after church and get her a pot of flowers for her deck.

Hope you have a productive weekend!
Blessings,
Karen

I have made my requests known. I mean what with a hubby, six boys and a girl, I'll just sit back in my easy chair as they walk by and lavish me with their kisses, hugs, and gifts. Ahhhhhhh :-) (I have all ready mentioned what I want to each person I mentioned here.)

I think having Mother's Day so close to Easter has made it kind of a stressful time. The holidays are just too close together this year!

Loved Seinfeld and the yada, yada, I had forgotten about that. :)

Have a great weekend!

Books! Since books are always on my mind, I tend to think of what book would my mom like, or my daughter, a young mother herself. Oh, and I put book titles on my list when they ask what I want, too :-)

Love the yada, yada thing. When I want to complain about not having enough time for things, I'll remember this. Happy Mother's Day to you, early...

Sigh. I have yet to think about all that yada yada but I do love Seinfeld! PS I have given a detailed list as to what I want for M-Day! :)

So can I say "Happy Mother's Day Mom. Here's your card and yada yada yada!"
She is a Seinfeld fan, do you think it would work?

Ok, for real ideas? I was thinking flowers because I know she likes fresh flowers. Don't have a lot of time though!

Yada Yada pretty much sums it up.....

I took my Mom on a Christian Women's Retreat in April for an early Mother's Day gift. As for MIL, we'll probably send a gift card her way as she's tough to buy for.

I think it's because Easter was so late this year. I had the same problem! My mom's birthday, Easter and then Mother's Day all came back to back to back. I'm glad we have a month 'til Father's Day; aren't you?
