Summer Bash Time!

Happy Monday, everyone!

I spent most--if not ALL--of the weekend at the beach trying to beat the heat. It was a good time but I was torn between two extremes there. It was SOOOOO hot sitting on the beach, but when you went in the ocean your legs turned numb. (Lifeguards said water temp was 68, but I disagree... Felt more like 58!)

We brought PLENTY of water (and other drinks), but maybe other people didn't think ahead. There were quite a few cases of heat exhaustion on the beach, which had the lifeguards busy.

All in all, an interesting beach time. :-)

Anyhew, it's back to editing for me this week. In the meantime, I wanted to let you know all about this:

I have to say 58 degree water temps sounds very nice. Our water is like sitting in a hot bath!
Can't wait to check out the Summer Bash.

Your beach trip sounds wonderful in spite of the cold water. In fact, the cold water sounds pretty great to me right now. This summer has been way too hot!

I'll be sure to check out the Summer Bash -- looks like a fantastic bunch of people will be there.

I went swimming this weekend too. But I swear the water was more like 90 degrees. Felt like taking a big bath!!

We don't have AC so we decided to go where of all places this weekend...the zoo w/ hot smelly animals.

Actually, we had fun, but splashing around in waves sounds pretty good, too.

Nothing beats a trip to the beach - but both extremes would make it interesting! I'm off to check out the Summer Bash! (New follower!)

Eep. The idea of busy lifeguards is a bit scary ...

This summer is about extremes, isn't it? Cool about all those giveaways, thanks for the link!

There's so much to check out here, it's going to take a while to catch up.
Weekend at the beach -- I'm so jealous.

68 still is pretty cold! I won't go in unless it's over 82! :)

As a girl who cannot take cold showers even in the summer, 68 degrees is definitely too cold!

The Summer Bash sounds really cool. I'll be checking it out!

Wow, that's quite the difference in temps! Sounds sort of like going into a hot tub on a snowy day...only opposite. :)

So glad you had fun at the beach.

It was sooo hot here. I actually ran into a heat issue. Finding my way back slowly, just taking it easy and eating loads of ice cream! :)

I'm glad you had fun at the beach. With all of this hot weather, it's hard to believe the water would be so cold.

Too bad about the people who got sick. You definitely need water.

The weekend at the beach sounds fabulous, even with the cold water. Just looking at the picture makes me wish I was sitting in one of those chairs right now!

Thanks for sharing about the Summer Bash!

I'm so envious of you getting to go hang out at the beach - no matter the temperature! Sounds lovely right about now.

Thanks for linking to the hot spot, too. I had seen mention of it around, but I hadn't looked at it yet. I'm off to do so now.

Wait...are you rubbing it in that you get to hang out on the cool beach all day, while the rest of us are suffering 100 degree temps with the closest beach a full day's drive away? :-)

I was at the ocean too. The Atlantic in New England was warm. My feet didn't go numb. One day we had huge waves and I swam for about 30 minutes. My core body temp. must have dropped though b/c I was shivering for a couple hours, even in the sun!
