More Monday Musings

Happy Monday!
Hope all you Nano-ers are still plugging away! You're at the halfway mark!

And me? I'm still plugging away too--although at a much slower non-Nano rate. :)

In case you all are curious, I"ll share that I LOVE MY NEW HAIRCUT. Not really short in the back though. Just a tiny angle. It looks like Jennifer Anniston's hair when she bobbed it--here. Very happy!!

And here are just a few more of my thoughts for today:

1) Why do we still have Halloween candy in the house? We've been eating it everyday and it just won't disappear. (I'm afraid it will appear on my hips though)

2) Why does coffee out taste so much better than coffee at home?

3) I think I must have a very fragile body. I had just a smidgen of a sore throat yesterday and I had to take a nap after church and was pretty much down for the count all day. I had no other symptoms...

4) Leftovers stink. (Unless it's pizza or some kind of pasta)

5) Is it mashed potatoes or mash potatoes?
Yes, I know, my thoughts run pretty deep... LOL

Any thoughts (or answers) you'd like to share?
Do you still have Halloween candy left?

Pizza and pasta always make for great leftovers. No Halloween candy remaining - we never had any.

Hooray for a great haircut!

And I always say "mashed potatoes."

Your picture didn't come up on the url. :(

Good for you for taking a nap. Listen to your body.

Going out to get coffee right now...

When my girlies were little, it was smashed potatoes

LOL! I love your random thoughts! They made me laugh. Mainly because I find myself pondering these same things. :)

Amen to the Halloween candy.

I think it's mashed potatoes:)) Hope you are feeling better today!!

I need a haircut! Love Jenn Anistan's new cut -- my sister's hair is cut that way too. Mine's too short to pull it off :(

I say mashed potatoes, but that doesn't mean it's right, haha

Mash potatoes? I think! Oooh now you got me thinking! LOL!!

I think cold roast potatoes eaten the day after with lots of ketchup is truly yum!

Yay for your new haircut!

Take care

I love leftover pizza!

Yay about the haircut. I actually have haircut nightmares. (I have long hair and dream that I decide to get it cut short and then it's hideous and it takes me the rest of my life to grow it out. I know, kind of pathetic. But true.)

I've been asking myself that coffee question for years! LOL

Mmm, now I want pizza.

Some people say smashed potatoes - not me I say mash. I thought I said mashed until I said it out loud just now and realized I didn't.

I'm jealous of the haircut. I'm in desperate need of one. You've inspired me to make an appointment! And I'm pretty sure it's mashed, but it comes out mash when most people say it. Now you've got me craving pizza, pasta, candy and mashed potatoes! Thanks a lot. I was planning on starting a diet today. :)

Your randomness is hysterical! Glad you like your cut. Mashed potatoes.

Okay, I'm stuck on #5 too! And yes coffee is meant to be enjoyed at some classy eatery!

Buy your beans from the coffee shop and grind them fresh at home if you don't already. I worked in a coffee shop once upon a time. (favorite-est job ever) It's still not the same, but a lot closer to the good stuff.

Send that Halloween candy over here right now!

Must see pics. We still have plenty of candy too & I agree about the coffee.

My cold went to my knee. Moms are not allowed to get sick so it's hiding in my knee. I'm not entirely kidding on this one. Intriguing theory, eh? :D

Good things to ponder! :) We always said mashed potatoes, and now that I think about it, never thought to call them anything else. I do have a friend from the Boston area that calls them mashies.

Happy Monday!

Glad you're happy with your haircut. As for potatoes, I've always said mashed, and they're actually quite good as leftovers, too. Mix in some sharp grated cheddar, parsley, and garlic powder, make paddies, and brown in a bit of butter. Yummy.

What a fun post. I think it is mashed potatoes, unless you are talking about the dance by Dee Dee Sharp (who?). Then you don't have time to call out "mashed," you have to yell "mash."

Coffee out means you didn't make it or have to clean it up. And hopefully, you're having coffee with a friend.

I got a great new haircut last week, too. Glad you like yours, too :)

It's mashed potatoes. Or as Rachael Ray says, smashed potatoes.

Still have candy here, too. Sadly.

Don't get sick. It's an order - LOL.

Oh, at last! A benefit for not celebrating Halloween!
Coffee out definitely tastes better. Maybe it's the company & the people watching.

Oh man, #3 sounds exactly like what happened to me last week. Unfortunately, the sore throat and crazy exhaustion stayed with me for four days. I promise I didn't pass it through cyberspace...really! :)

Still have candy left and I'm thinking of a project that puts that candy into an advent calendar and onto gingerbread houses:) Also, your hair sounds very cute. I'm thinking of changing mine up a bit, maybe just the color???

Rula Sinara said...

Yes, we need to see a picture :) I love angled bobs.

I say mashed, but maybe that's a southern thing? Didn't know there was any other way to say it ;)

No candy left here. We give a lot of it away bc of allergies...guess there's a plus side to allergies lol!

Halloween was pretty much cancelled here with the whole state out of electricity that night :/

And I vote for Mashed Potatoes ...

I had fun eating candy when I was younger. Not any more! I think there's something in the air. I think I'm getting a cold, and I never used to get more than a few a year. I think it's the temperatures that keep going up and down.

At this point I don't have any thoughts much deeper than yours! I'm not doing NaNo but I did finally get a "story"--a novella length memoir--up today, all by myself, on Smashwords and Kindle. When it goes live on Kindle I'll do a shout out on my blog. This is my one success story of the month, and it has perked me up; made me feel ten years younger--and in this department I need all the help I can get!!

Don't get sick, and have a good week.

I've wondered about the Nano thing, because technically, isn't that too few words for a novel? What do I know though?

Cindy R. Wilson said...

Mashed potatoes. Yup! Kinda sounds good :) I actually prefer coffee at home, oddly enough. I rarely get it when I'm out. And I just told my hubby last night that pizza was the best leftover because you could eat it for every meal afterward until it's gone. Pizza for breakfast? Even cold? Yup! Pizza for lunch and dinner, too? Yup? My second favorite is Chinese but that's not as good for breakfast :)

I say mash potatoes. You might be run down because of the Halloween candy! No, scratch that, it will make you feel better. LOL

I agree the coffee always does taste and smell better out.

My question: Why do unexpected visitors turn up during the one week you have ignored housework?

Susan Fields said...

I'm glad you like your new haircut! I need to make a hair appointment today.

I finally finished off the Halloween candy - and it was cause for celebration, let me tell you! By the end, I started leaving it in my son's room so he'd help me eat it. My daughters both went trick-or-treating so they had their own candy.

Lauren F. Boyd said...

I agree with your #2 - and not just for coffee: most food seems to taste better at restaurants than at home. Even if I try to make the same food at home, it's still better out!

To answer your question, it's mashed potatoes.

And I'm delicate, too. If I had a slight cold, I'd be like you - down for the count.

On a separate note thanks for stopping by my blog! Always great to see you!

Lydia Kang said...

It's mashed potatoes. It's only "mash potatoes" when you have some slave-driving potato mashing person standing behind you forcing you to kill tubers.
;)

Linda Kage said...

I dunno, I've had some leftover pasta that utterly reeks. Makes you not want to open the refrigerator!

Happy Mon--er, Wednesday!!

We still have TONS of Halloween candy, but I'm glad. We don't buy much candy throughout the year, so the Halloween candy has to last a long time for my kids' treats. :)

Theresa Milstein said...

Candy from Halloween until Christmas is a baaad time. This year we have less candy, which is much better for me and my waistline.

Guess what?! I'm getting a haircut, too! My mom mailed me some money. I cried when I opened the envelope. Goodbye long locks, I will not miss you.

I love your randomness! ... and I think it's mashed potatoes. Right?
