Some Monday Musings

Happy Monday, all!

I'm a little pressed for time today, so I'll keep my thoughts short. LUCKY YOU!

1) I have a chip in my granite already. I know. Only me. It's small and I think it can be fixed, but I think it's God way of reminding me that possessions are fleeting. LOL

2) Forget the IPhone. I want a dog now. Saw my brother last night and his new 3 month old puppy. Soooooooooo cute. He's a cross between a Labradoodle and a Cockapoo. He so sweet and hypoallergenic. Bonus.

3) Getting a haircut today. I'm thinking of bobbing it and having it shorter in the back. Hmmm...

4) Looking at backsplash is driving me more crazy than looking at granite. Nuff said.

5)I had a little writing challenge last week with fellow Avalon author bud, Julie Stone. There was a $5 Starbucks card on the line so we took it very seriously. But it was a draw. It really helped me write more because every time I figured I was done, I would think, "Hmm...what if she's still writing?" LOL

6) We're out of coffee. NOT a good way to start a Monday. I usually keep a back up can so I don't know how this happened. :(

7) Watched a good movie on Netflix that I highly enjoyed. The Groomsmen. It starred Ed Burns. Kind of an Indie movie. I rarely get a chance to sit and watch a movie so it was a nice treat.

8) Brother is hosting Thanksgiving this year. I usually bring the desserts so I was thrown for a loop when I was told to bring...the sweet potatoes.

9) Blogger and my laptop don't seem to get along anymore. More nuff said.

And that's all for me.

Anything you'd like to get off your chest?
Rent any good movies lately?

Yikes on the granite! Go for the iPhone, you don't have to take it out in the cold to pee. Just remember that.

Great job on all your writing! Don't yah just love competing! :)

How did you manage to chip granite?!

Ouch! Sorry about your granite chip. :(

But your brother's puppy sounds adorable. You should get one, too. :)

No coffee!!! I'd die.

If it helps, my granite is chipped in several places. Hugs.

Too funny about the pups. I have a labradoodle and my sis has a cockapoo. I'm about to get another labradoodle puppy. They're awesome family dogs.

No go find some coffee, lol!

No coffee??? On a Monday??? Now that is truly BRAVE.

Good luck with the backsplash and I feel you on the chip in your granite!

That's enough for one day. Re: your haircut. Can you try on wig before you cut? I cut mine a few years back thinking I'd look spunky. I didn't realize that shorter hair took longer to work with because I couldn't just put in a ponytail in a pinch. I never could just pop out of the house. I always had to do my do.

No new news from me. No new movies either. My kid is stuck on the Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr. and wants to watch Kiki nonstop. Ugh. I think I can quote every episode by heart.

A crack in granite already??? Must've been an earthquake.

Hey, you should take Sweet Potato fries to Thanksgiving. I'm so in love with SPFs these days!

Happy Monday

Wow, dog or phone? I'd have to say dog. Sorry about the granite. Re: haircut, I'd say no. I always think shorter hair will be easier and it never is. Now go get some coffee.

I second what Jessica said! Gargets beat puppies by a landslide!

I'm pouting because I won't be able to get my post up until this afternoon. A long night with the baby- enough said:)

You need some chocolate.

A hypoallergenic dog? Don't tell my kids. They've been begging for a dog for years.

I'm sorry about the granite chip too. That would make me cry.

No coffee on a Monday? Oh no! I got a haircut Saturday. I was so close to getting bangs, but I talked myself out of it.

There are many disturbing things in the post. The most distressing is that you are out of coffee.

I don't know if I'd cry or shout from a chip in a few-days-old-brand-new counter. I mean at least a month might have been easier to take. Ya think?

My heart stopped at #6, but then it restarted again at #8. (Good thing they were close!) I just talked my sister into having Christmas at her house. I had to compromise and agree to cook, but it'll be worth it. :)

Ooooh, I feel your pain with the chip in your new granite counter top. If it helps, I did something even worse. Years ago, my hubby spent a God-awful grueling day laying new flooring in our kitchen. Two days later, I burned a little hole in it when I carelessly dropped a cigarette. (And I lived to tell of it!) Now, these many years later, I don't smoke, and the floor has a kazillion other rips, holes, and blemishes. Time to put in a new one, but we've already agreed to let someone else have all the installation fun this time.

The chip in the granite I so understand, it happened during our bathroom makeover-ugh! I was out of coffee as well and really needed it. Hang in there with the backsplash selection:)

Yes, get a dog & post lots of pictures. I heart dogs!

And yep, about the granite. I just bought pretty plates from Pier One (part of b-day) and I'm willing them not to chip.

Ha! Fun catching up on what's going on in your life.

Let's see...painted the kitchen this weekend and I can't stop walking in there to look at it. My daughter keeps saying, "It looks soooo different." And she's only four. Personally, I love it! That's my big event, which is actually pretty awesome because it's always so busy. I think I'm going to go look at my kitchen again :)

Bummer about the chip in your granite! And if your sweet potato casserole is anything like my family's, it basically IS a dessert, LOL!

Fun post, Jennifer!

Isn't it always something?? Someone explained to me once why the little things can really get us down while we seem to be able to endure the really difficult:

It's easier to sit on a mountain than on a tack!

You have such funny thoughts! I need a haircut too but hate to try a new beautician so I am putting it off and off!
A dog sounds wonderful:) Will you really do it? I plan to again someday.
Hope your week is great!

Sorry about the granite and no coffee on a Monday. Also I'm late as usual. Hope your Wednesday is wonderful.

I watched the new Jane Eyre for the second time the other night. I think it's really well done.

It doesn't take long for some new things to get broke in, does it?

My complaint is that I'm already not liking the cold weather moving in and spring is a long way off. Wishing I had some hot cocoa or chai tea to help warm me up.

That dog sounds adorable! I've been feeling the temptation to get a dog, but I think I need to wait until my baby is older. We got a kitten last year and I think my kids made him crazy. We eventually had to give him away because he had turned vicious. So, the dog dream can wait a few more years, I guess. :)

I really want to cut my hair short, but money's tight and a haircut is not top priority. I'm dealing with my long locks and wearing a ponytail every day. Blaagh, but better than going broke. :)
