Christmassy Stuff--and a Giveaway!

Hey, all!

I went away on a little bus trip with my mom on Saturday. We decided to do something for Christmas and go to Bethlehem.

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, that is. :)

It's actually called The Christmas City, christened "Bethlehem" on Christmas Eve 1741. We went shopping, had lunch, took a light tour and saw a short film on the city. We had so much fun! We actually bought Christmas gifts for each other. LOL

I soooooooooo needed that little getaway. And it was so nice to have so much fun with my mom. We try to do these little mommy-daughter getaways at least once or twice a year.

More Christmassy stuff: It's COOKIES for CASH time again. What's that? It's a cookie swap my friend hosts that gets pretty darn serious because the winner gets the pot of cash everyone chips in on entry. This year I'm changing it up, but in case any judges are reading this, I won't post my cookie recipe until AFTER the swap.
Wish me luck!

And now since I'm in such a Christmassy mood, I figured it's the perfect time to do a little cookbook GIVEAWAY!

How lovely you and your mother have time together.

My favourite Christmas treat is LiebKuchen (German Gingerbreads). My aunt sent them every year when I was a child. As I grew up I always had them in my home. When the children were young I had hearts made with their names on. Moving to Cyprus meant I could no longer get them, but...this year a German shop opened and WOW, I have got some again. Big smiles.

Enjoy your festive period!

Love cook books. My favorite Christmas treat would have to be home made candies. Fudge, Pecan rolls and all that good stuff.

That's sweet you got to have some time with your mom! I LOVE cookbooks! I love to bake. There are too many treats to name that I like, but I really enjoy warm breads, like banana bread, and cookies, of course!

What a fun trip! The last time I was in Bethlehem was when my son had an ice hockey game there. That was over ten years ago. :) It would be fun to go back. Glad you had a good time.

I love sugar cookies. My daughter just made some this weekend and they are yummy! Would love to be entered, thanks so much, Jennifer! :)

I really really love Christmas pudding but nobody else likes it in my family. I just buy one of those mini ones and have it all to myself :-)

I love that you spent time with your mom. It sounds like you have a great relationship.

My favorite treat is fudge. Any flavor (as long as there are no nuts...I'm allergic). ;)

Sounds like fun. The Precious Moments cathedral is only a hour from my place. I love going there during the Christmas season. It's soooooo pretty.

Good luck with your cookies!

My favorite Christmas treat? There are so many, but I'm most looking forward to our warm, freshly made cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. yum. Now I'm hungry.

I'm from Ohio and a big treat at Christmastime is the chocolate and peanut butter Buckeye! My sister makes the best Buckeyes in Ohio, too, so I get as many as I want from her! Thanks for the awesome giveaway:)
