The End

Well, in case you missed my BIG news on Twitter, I'm finally done with the book I've been working on.

I say finally done because this book was a bugger to write. (Think giving birth to a pineapple and you'll get what I mean.)

I really don't know why the end didn't want to come. I usually love writing the last chapter. My conflicts have been resolved and all I need to do is bring my hero and heroine together in a lovey-dovey way and tie it all up with a bright red bow.

But no. The red bow had been missing for months. Don't ask me why.

But I pushed forward and finished the book on Friday. I was literally pooped afterwards so I took a little online break. Sorry if I missed the blog rounds. (My eyes were too tired to read a computer screen anymore!)

~~~~~~~~
In other personal news, I've kind of become a...vegetarian.
I think three cows just had heart attacks as I wrote that.
But it's true. It started out with me just cooking three vegetarian meals a week (just for health reasons) and now the hubby is on board with me cooking vegetarian full time now. Believe me, I'm as shocked as some of my friends. Because if anyone had told me I would one day become a vegetarian, I would have choked on my hamburger.
Actually, Ive found quite a few tasty recipes, which I will share in the future. Stay tuned!
Anyhew, today I'm going to edit my chapter and submit it to my critique partners then play the rest of the day.
I deserve it. LOL
Are you or do you know any vegetarians? Do you think you could give up meat?
My son recently became vegetarian. I've been making meatless dinners, like chalupas and lasagna and cheese enchiladas, but honestly, DYING for a burger here!
Oooh yay for being a vegetarian! I've been since I was 17 and haven't looked back since! And I do mean no meat or fish! I'm only just now also cutting back on dairy produce too (just my thing - I really like the taste of soya milk!!) But I do look forward to your recipes! Yay!
Well done with your book!! Congratulations! Take care
Yay, congrats on finishing your book. I know exactly what you mean by the ending not being there.
And when I was younger, a lot younger, I tried to be a vegetarian, but I liked steak way too much. But I know I've really got to find a diet that works for me. I've got to cut back and do a bigger lifestyle change.
Yay on finishing your book! And re: going veggie...just be sure you get enough L-carnatine. And, "giving birth to a pineapple" - LOL!
My dad was a cattle rancher. My family might freak out if I became a vegetarian :) But my husband and I did start cooking at least one vegetarian meal a week, and it was great. Not only were they healthy, but it knocked us out of the dinner rut we'd been in. I honestly think I could live without meat, but I'm positive I could never convince my husband to jump on board.
I got my hubby hooked on vegetarianism for a couple of years but then he wanted to go back to meat. Being a very lazy cook, I wasn't about to cook two different meals.
We grow some of our meat, but the plan is to grow all of it in the next year or two. At least I'll know our food is healthy.
congrats on finishing that book!!!
We eat mainly vegetarian meals but throw in a light meat one now and then. My husband needs his burgers. We also ended up depleting our B12 so another reason he eats beef now and then but I do prefer veggie meals:))
Congrats on finishing the book! And yes, a break is always a given after working on a project like that. :)
Congrats!! But now I'm not going to be able to get the pineapple picture out of my head!
One of my boys and I haven't touched red meat in years. We do eat some poultry and (mostly)fish, but I cook at least half our meals as vegetarian. I could easily eat only vegetarian meals, but my family isn't ready for it.
I could NEVER give up meat. I'm not sure which made me cringe more, the pineapple birth or the giving up meat. LOL
Ah, hitting the end! Go play for sure!
Woo-hoo! Congrats on finishing. You rock. :D
Enjoy your vegetarianism! I do love veggies myself. Alas, I also love a good steak too much to give up meat entirely.
I know a few vegetarians. It's not as uncommon anymore as it used to be. It's great that people are becoming more aware of what we eat and put into our bodies! I couldn't ever give up chicken, though. I could probably give up red meat, though I would miss it, but I love chicken too much and would never make it without it!
Congrats on finishing your novel, Jennifer!!
I don't really like meat that much, but I'm not crazy about a lot of different vegetables either. I love eggs and cheese, so a strict vegetarian diet would be out. I am working on eating better. I'll look forward to how you do your new diet.
I could give it up. We don't eat too much of it anyway. Although I did just tell someone a steak sounded good, so I'm reconsidering.
All "I"s are on you on my FB writer page today!
Congrats on finishing your story! You definitely deserve to play for the rest of the day. As far as no meat? Ah...no, not for me. Maybe one day...nah, probably not. I love meat.
Hey! Super congrats to you on finishing! I know that's a huge load off. It's time to play! Well-deserved. :o)
As for vegetarinism, I've never done it, but I know several who have. Beans + rice create the complete protein chain your body needs, so try to eat your beans with rice. Brown rice is even better.
And that's all I know about that. :D LOL! Have a super break~
I don't eat a lot of meat, but I do enjoy it when I get a craving. But I will certainly give your recipes a try! Congrats on finishing the book!!
Congratulations on the big finish!! Much success to you with your newest baby.
I have to make some lifestyle changes so I am looking forward to those recipes. :)
No on the meat, though I should probably try giving up coffee, at least for Lent.
Congratulations on finishing - that is great news!
Also on becoming a sort of vegetarian - so am I. I still won't turn down a piece of chicken when the fancy strikes, but veggies can indeed be darn tasty :-)
Congratulations!! It sounds like you really earned "the end".
Jennifer, congrats! On the book *wild clapping* and the veggie-ism. I became vegan (minus the crazed political and creepy affiliations, lol) January 2011. Yep. VEGAN. One day, I ate a bacon cheeseburger, the next, stone cold veg-head. That said, a year later, I've relearned to cook EVERYTHING, love our new diet, have lost 23 lbs, and feel better than I have in 15 years. So, what I'm TRYING to say, is I'll hook you up with awesome recipes so you are sure not to suffer. Just tweet me! :)
Congrats on finishing your difficult final chapter! :o)
I grew up with parents who loved cooking East Indian cuisine and we often ate vegetarian food and dishes made with tofu instead of meat (this was waaaaay back in the 70s!)
I guess I didn't inherit their passion for vegetarianism (is that a word?)though--at least not yet!
Woohooo on the book! :-)
As for meat, I only eat it a few times a week, mostly fish my hubs catches, so I'd probably be fine. But I wouldn't give it up because fish is really good for you.
CONGRATS on finishing your book! I eat a lot of vegetarian meals, but do still eat some meat. I actually tried eating vegan for awhile, but too hard for me to stick to. I'll stick with mostly vegetarian. It works for me.
Congrats getting the book done! That's super cool. (and no meat would be so hard!)
Marianne Arkins said...
YAY on the book!!!
And re: being veg -- I could (I have in the past) but my DH is all carnivore. So, I either have to cook two meals or suck it up. I do a little of both.
Have a great day :-)
I responded to your last blog before I read this one. Welcome a board:) I've been a vegetarian for 15 years. I started because of animal rights, but health is certainly a binnie:)
