Meme & Giveaway!

Happy Monday! So much to do, so much to say today!

First off: I was tagged in the Lucky 7 Meme by my bloggy buddy Susanne Drazic (PS. if you don't follow her blog, you should).

Lucky 7 Meme Rules:
1. Go to page 77 of your current manuscript.

2. Go to line 7.

3. Copy the next 7 lines (sentences or paragraphs) and post them as they're written. No cheating!

4. Tag 7 other writers to pass this meme on to.

I went to my last manuscript I finished (tentatively called Kissing Kendall) since my Fast Draft manuscript is still in chunks and pieces and I didn't even put the chapters together yet.

Excerpt:

“I hadn’t thought about that. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
He slung his arm over her shoulder and pulled her to his side. “Well, that’s something you never have to worry about. You’ll always have me around to look out for you.”
Kendall’s grin slowly faded. What he said wasn’t exactly true. She wouldn’t always have him—for more than one reason alone. A slow chill settled down her spine, leaving her queasy. Brad was back in her life as her friend, but for how long? Soon he’d have a girlfriend as his priority. Then he’d have to leave for his schooling. She’d be left alone again.

**exciting, I know.**

7 Writers I'm tagging:
1-Jessica Patch
2- Wendy Paine Miller
3-Jill Kemerer
4- Rula Sinara
5-Leigh over at Em-Musing
6- Linda Kage
7-Julie Jarnagin
Enjoy, ladies! LOL

I'm also over at one of my fellow critique partner's BLOG today! Bethanne Strasser is celebrating the soon-to-be release of her first book For Love or Duty this week and she asked me to be there and help spread the word!
PS. I'll be giving away a copy of my recent romance SUNNY DAYS FOR SAM to some lucky commenter!
So stop by for the fun!

I feel like folks will be lost. I still am lost in edits...but here goes...

From my WIP:

I manage to ingest almost half a carton of pistachio ice cream before I lock my door, wheeling my small and sparsely packed suitcase behind me.

The airport is a nervous quiet—the kind of pre-surgery quiet. Lights flicker on inside the shops. I watch the lines for coffee wind around to the outside of the Starbucks, so those desperate for caffeine check out the latest New York Times bestsellers on the shelves. Is Sabrina up there? Too far to see.

I suppress my five-hundredth yawn. Does my dad know I’m coming? What will we say to one another? Will he even be coherent enough to speak? Questions like this barge through my already fuzzy thoughts. I take a few notes on my spiral notepad about a potential new twist to…

I love the cover of your book, especially how the red shoes match the heart on the front.

I love the Lucky 7 Meme.

And great meme. That would suck, caring for someone, but knowing he won't be around for long because he's going to have a girlfriend, and it won't be you. :(

Hi Jennifer,

I liked your excerpt - it left me wondering what the heck was going on... which made me want to read all about Kendall. And Brad. And why he can't see that she's not just "friend" material, but girlfriend material???

And you don't have to enter me in your contest as I just won a copy of Sunny Days for Sam from Bethanne Strasser's giveaway last week! I'm soooo excited to get my hands on that book. On the other hand, if I do win it, maybe I'll do a giveaway of my own! Wouldn't that be awesome - pass the love, please!
