Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday!
(Although I must say I've been on a "sort of" vacation, so every day kind of felt like Friday this week.)

Most of my friends are away at RWA Nationals in CA now and I've been feeling a little left-out so I haven't been doing much work.
Hopefully, next year I'll be able to join them in Atlanta!

Anyhew, to cheer myself up I've been adding what I'm calling Friday Favorites #16.

Flowers from my garden.

                                                           (my dining room table)

                                                                        (my kitchen)

I love to cut my hydrangeas and put them in vases. The light green/cream colored flower is a limelight, which is another kind of hydrangea that loves to be cut.

I also have some daisies in my bathroom. :)

One of the things I love about summer is having fresh flowers in the house, but buying them can get costly. So I make sure I plant lots of flowering shrubs that I can cut and put in vases. I also get creative with my butterfly bush stems too, which can add a nice pop of color too.

I feel so happy just looking at them!

How about you? Do you like fresh flowers in your house? Do you cut flowers from your own garden?

I love fresh flowers in the house, but don't have many cutting flowers. My hydrangeas haven't bloomed this year, though, and my roses are kinda stressed, too. I usually buy myself a bouquet from the grocery store when I'm in the mood :)

I love fresh flowers! Usually I plant zinnias for their outrageous color, but didn't get to it this year.

My daughter just left for law school and received flowers from a number of young men--including "the Trader Joe's guy"... we're going to miss her...

I love fresh flowers in the house and grow a lot of flowers and blooming shrubs. I've solved the "no fresh flowers in the winter" problems by growing orchids. Moth orchids tend to bloom in the winter, other orchids bloom in the fall, etc. And they really aren't that hard to grow. Plus, the blooms last about three months.

The yard isn't looking too spiffy so I leave the blooms alone so that something outside looks nice.

Connie: Orchids! What a great idea!

Those flowers are gorgeous! I wish I had fresh flowers in my house, but *sigh* a green thumb I am not. :)

Happy weekend, Jennifer!

They're beautiful! I love fresh flowers, alas I have none in my yard. I have hardly any shade and down here it's hotter than Satan's Lair, so...

Just cut some daisies from my yard yesterday to bring in with some pretty pink flower. I have no idea what it's called.

Could never get our butterfly bush to grow. Your flowers look ma-ve-lous.

Your flowers are so gorgeous. I love hydrangeas because my grandma had a bush right outside her kitchen door.

The creamy one is extra nice, I think.

I don't cut my flowers because they are not bushy enough to notice. I do love cut flowers and wish I knew how to get those kind.

Our hydrangea is looking pretty puny this year. In fact, it's looked pretty puny the past couple years. The blossoms are undersized, and the blue fades quickly away. So, no hydrangeas in the house, but I do love fresh flowers in the house. If the garden doesn't provide enough, I can pick up a bouquet of carnations from the grocery store for three bucks. (I'm worth it!)

Oh, how pretty, though I have to say I love your food Friday Favorites best!! I love anything with food involved!

And I must be living under a rock lately; completely forgot it was RWA time!

These are such pretty pictures, I love hydrangeas. I also love fresh flowers in my house but unfortunately my cat does too and has a bad habit of eating them!

Have a great weekend. :)

I'm not a big one for flowers inside, but with spring on the way our daffodils and other spring flowers are starting to bloom in the garden. It's very pretty :)

Beautiful! I love fresh flowers. Unfortunately, I kill everything I try to grow.

Your kitchen looks awesome.

I'm not a flower gardener--aside from a few rose bushes and irises. But once I have my landscaping the way I like it, I might add a few strictly for cutting.

Beautiful! I love hydrangeas and butterfly bushes, but our soil isn't the best for it.

So beautiful! There are some hydrangeas growing just up the street here and I make sure to walk by them everyday.

Your hydrangeas are so lush! I, unfortunately, do not have a green thumb, so I tend to avoid buying many new flowering plants in order to preserve their little lives. ;o)

Although I have managed to successfully grow a nice, big lilac bush which I love to cut. I keep those fragrant blossoms beside me while I work.
