Misc Monday

Hey, all!

It's one of those summer Mondays.
So here's some miscellaneous jibber-jabber:

As much as I LOVED watching the Olympics, I'm glad it's over.
I can finally go to bed at a reasonable hour again. :-)

I have some fun news. Maybe Friday I'll share. But maybe Monday. (I know. I'm a tease)

I went to the hairdresser on Friday and was told I had HAIRSPRAY BUILD-UP. It was the first time in my life I ever had it. She used some sort of scrub on my hair to get it out. (And yes, I bought new hairspray)

I made Rice Krispie Treats and threw in a cup of milk chocolate morsels as I mixed everything up. (Try it. You'll never eat a plain marshmallow bar again!)

I went to the library the other day and finally checked out The Hunger Games. (Yeah, I'm a bit late to the party)

And lastly, here are pictures of my dining room makeover:

Dining Room BEFORE

Dining Room AFTER in "Sandbank" by Sherwin Williams

I know. It doesn't look that bad. But trust me, it looked PINK ten hours of the day. So I painted it beige and it looks much better.

AFTER AFTER in Barcelona Beige by Sherwin Williams

That's it for me.
How about you?
Any misc things you want to get off your chest? :-)

Before or after, just beautiful! I have the same style dining room chairs, but with a traditional Queen Anne table. I love your glass table. Modern and traditional at the same time. Will you come makeover my rooms?

Love the dining room transition. The beige makes it look much more sophisticated.

Peanut butter in rice krispie treats taste really good too!

The after definitely looks better - so much light, so much space! Yay!

Back in my teenage years, my mom carpeted the family room in "Salmon." FYI, it was pink. Years went by, and she continued insisting it was salmon, not pink.I had to respectfully disagree. ;)

I like the beige walls much better! :-) also, can't wait to hear your news!

Oooh, your dining room is so pretty!!! Mine is horrible, a huge mess. *sigh* I blame it on the hubs and his fishing. lol
You'll have to let us know if you like Hunger Games!
And good luck with the hairspray. *grin* Too funny!

You're a lot more industrious than I am. If I don't like the color after I've gone through the trouble of painting a room, I live with it until it needs painting again. (You should've seen the AWFUL color the exterior of our house in Maryland was ... simply because we didn't have money to burn and the color was "on sale.") That being said, your dining room looks amazing in beige.

Oh, and you oughta know by now, there aren't too many things that chocolate doesn't improve.

What the heck? Shampoo doesn't remove that build-up? I'd be switching too!

Beautiful dining room. We don't have one since our living room area is one massively long room--a poorly designed addition before our time. LOL. So... when we want to entertain, the ping pong table gets covered with a gigantic table cloth. :) Whew, glad to get that off my chest!

YUMMY!
I have to have chocolate chips in my brownies. No plain janes for me.

Miss seeing more of you. :O)

How do you like Hunger Games? I couldn't put it down.
I put chocolate chips in my Rice Krispies. Yum!

Hi, Jennifer,
You aren't the only one late to the Hunger Games party. I haven't read it as yet.

The dining room looks great.

Ditto on the Olympics. I'll miss it, but maybe now I'll get something done.

Miscellaneous, huh?

The olympics were replaced by election stuff. Blech!

And, I'm back at the day job for two-three months. Blech, blech!

As you can see, I'm a little bit whiny today. Sorry. :(

Love the new dining room look! I know what you mean about the color. Picked something like that for a bathroom one time and it just didn't look right. Have a great week! :)

Very stylie makeover. It looks more sophisticated in its new dress.

I've heard you can get shampoo buildup to, but have never heard of hairspray buildup.

Your dining room looks totally elegant! I actually did like the Sandbank, but if it was really pink looking that would be frustrating.

I had the same situation with our carpeting. We picked a very pale sage green color and DIDN'T test a sample first. For hours each day the color changes from sage to gray to beige (?). Unfortunately, we're stuck with it!

I love color, but it can be tricky with the light. The room looks fab--I'm inspired to clean mine up!!
