Hurricane Sandy

Well, it's mandatory evacuation for us again.

Twice in thirteen months now. Last time we had to get out was with Irene. But it's the not the wind and debris we're worried about this time. It's the flooding.

Something to do with the high tide that will be happening when the storm hits, combined with it moving so slowly, combined with the full moon, combined with...
Well, you get the picture.

The perfect storm.

The good news is I managed to finish my edits early. Nothing like the threat of flash flooding to light a candle under you!

We've moved almost everything we could off of the first floor. Hopefully, I won't have water in my house when I get back.
And I'll have electricity.
So if you don't hear from me in a while, you'll know. :-)

Take care and stay safe!!

You know I'm with you on this. You're welcome to bunk here if need be. Hoping our state will be a little less impacted.

Thinking of you!

With the systems colliding, it's supposed to dump a lot of water. I hope you come home to a dry house.

Been thinking of you. Just saw some pics on Facebook of Stone Harbor; there's already water on the main road in. Hoping your home is on higher ground. Will be praying for you all!

Oh my! Last year Hurricane Irene didn't hit Philadelphia as hard as they predicted, so I'm crossing my fingers that it's the same with Sandy.

I hope you are safe, well, and dry, Jennifer!

Gosh, Jennifer -- where are you going? A shelter? A hotel? Family?

We are bracing for Sandy as well, but we've got a generator, a swimming pool full of water, and we aren't in a flooding area, so we'll be okay.

I hope your house stays secure and dry.

I was thinking of you today. I remembered about Irene. We are expecting the high winds, but nothing like you will experience. Good luck!

You stay safe, too. I just posted a Coast Guard photo on FB from a flooded Barnegat Light.
