Hell is Probably Freezing Over at this Moment...

Hi, all! And happy Monday!

You may be wondering why hell would be freezing over at the moment.

That's because I have signed up for NaNoWriMo this year.

(Eeep)

Usually, I'm on the sidelines, cheering everybody on and silently thanking God that I'm not doing that kind of writing. However, I need to get some work done and I thought I would give it a try, since the timing is good right now.

So away I go.

Right now, I'm plotting. And plotting. I want to have somewhat of a road map before I begin.
I'm very nervous because I'm normally a very slow writer. But maybe I need a good kick in the pants.

If you're doing NaNo, please buddy me and hold my hand!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In other news, I have news...  that I hope to be able to share soon.
I know. What a tease, right?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And in other news news, because of NaNo, I WILL NOT be blogging until after Thanksgiving. I know boo-hoo. A lot of you are still able to keep up with the blog writing, but I'm not sure what I'm in for, so I figure it would be a good not to stretch myself too thin.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One last thing I have to share. I recently took a writing seminar about tropes and category writing. It was really good but one thing stuck with me and that is this:
Category romance is one big cliché. They are all the same. HOWEVER, what makes one better than another is when the author CREATES SCENES AND CHARACTERS THAT ARE MEMORABLE.
I think that's really true. How many marriage of convenience stories are there out there? TONS. But some are more special than others.
Anyhew, I'll leave you with all that and see you after Turkey Day!!
Are you doing NaNo? Buddy me!
Have you ever done NaNo before? How did it go?
Good luck with NaNo! I can't wait to hear how it goes. See you at Thanksgiving. :)
I've always wanted to do NaNo, but the timing's never been right. I plan to take most of November off too, so maybe I should attempt some writing then.
I tried NaNo once and realized I'm not good under pressure. I got hung up on the word count as I tried to edit and write at the same time. I forgot I was just supposed to draft. But, I'm sure you'll do great with your plot all set and ready to go.
Have a great Thanksgiving.
I'm a slow writer, too, so I can't wait to hear about your NaNo experience.
I'm planning on taking a blog break between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
So, my friend:
Happy Halloween
Happy Thanksgiving
Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
See you in January!
I hate that NaNo is in November. Then again, I'm not sure ANY month would work for me. Haha! Good luck in your conquest.
I'm a slow too, but like you the timing is write so I'm hoping to push myself along.
I am blogging, sort of. I pre-wrote all my posts. They tie into my WIP. Visiting everyone may get tricky, but I'll see how that goes.
Woohoo, another NaNo-er!!! I'll be there, too, writing furiously alongside you. What's your NaNo username so I can find you?? You can find me at Sunshine21!
Happy reading and writing! from Laura Marcella @ Wavy Lines
Jennifer, I do NaNo every year because I work well to deadlines, especially if they are not just self-imposed. I've never succeeded in getting 50,000 words done in a month, but have always made great progress on my w.i.p.!
I have never participated in NaNo, nor even considered it, mostly because as a teacher, November is a heck of a month for me -- full of report cards and parent/teacher conferences.
It also doesn't fit my style of writing. However, if I ever get to retire from teaching, maybe I would try it anyway.
Good luck with your project, Jennifer. I'm heading off on holiday during November, so no NANO for me.
Look forward to your good news.
All the best. I'm also doing Nano this year and I'm also naturally a slower writer so I'm really nervous. Hope I write this book that's churning around inside of me.
I love NaNoWriMo. I'm bummed that I'm not participating this year, but I have revisions to finish. Good luck!
Not doing NaNo but will be cheering you on. I am, however, making a big effort to work on the WIP to keep it going. Will miss you, but will be thinking of you! :)
Good luck with this!
Happy writing, Jen! I wrote a book last month--fastest I've ever written (mind you,I'd already reworked the synopsis and first 3 chapters to the editor's approval prior to the start of the month), but got to say, it was totally exhilarating to type "The End" on the 31st. I'm kind of disappointed that I have to slow down to edit and plot a new one, instead of just barreling on to more writing this month. :) Enjoy!!!
