Weekend Recap #9
MENTAL STATUS: "Pooped." I had an exhausting weekend but I promised to drive an hour in 90 degree heat to visit my mom today. Maybe I'll make an iced coffee to go.
Okay. Let's see... what happened this weekend... what happened this weekend... Oh, yeah. I had another beautiful, sunny weekend at the beach!
Hate me yet?
Don't worry. It'll come soon enough.
Well, Friday I stripped some more wallpaper from my bathroom if that makes you feel any better. Then that night the hubby was going to grill some pizza, but the neighbors were having another couple over and invited us to come over and order take-out with them. Needless to say, we're not stupid and know a better offer when it's handed to us. So we went over.
Saturday was my mother-in-law's birthday. We started the morning by taking her to a charity breakfast--where the mayor of our town was making pancakes. Honestly, there was almost too much food, but everything was fantastic.
Then we went to the beach, huge sandcastle was made, blah, blah, blah. You know the routine.
Later that night we all went to The Rain Forest Cafe for dinner. (My daughter's choice) and we all sang "Happy Birthday" to my mother-in-law despite her unhappiness about it. Ha!
The hubby had a great Father's day, too. After church, we packed and up and managed to spend a few hours on the beach, since it was so hot. That's when my daughter discovered a new love: catching sand crabs. She'd catch them, show them to us and then let them go. (This went on for a good hour, by the way.)
For dinner, he wanted to barbecue and so we invited his parents over. The hubby actually tried his hand at making gourmet burgers: bacon and blue cheese on top. He dubbed them: "blue pigs". Whatever. But they were so good. I might have to take an extra body sculpting class to compensate for what I ate all weekend.
Uh, I said might.
Anyhew, how was your weekend?

Blue cheese on a hamburger??
That's just wrong! :o)
I'm with Elle. Blue cheese is just wrong period! Ugh.
Anyhoo, I'd love to switch lives with you for a while. Mine is just dull, dull, dull. And I have no beach within a three hour drive. I love Atlanta, but we are definitely ocean-challenged here.
Didn't do much this weekend. My ride backed out on me, so I never made it to my GRW meeting. :(
Car is still out of commission. Sigh... Just went to church and out to dinner with my niece. Hubby and youngest daughter went to N. Carolina to visit his father.
i am sure u have a white picket fence too! :) your life sounds idyllic.
Sounds like you had great weekend. Today was still part of mine. I went to the rodeo. Just got home. I'm home much later than I figured I would be so I'm still doing laundry and chores. LOL. It is so warm here and I'm just not used to being outside in the heat for many hours. I'm tired. But it was fun.
