Weekend Recap #25
IN THE NEWS: According to World Magazine, "A man didn't just metaphorically break the piggy bank to buy his new Dodge Ram truck. The 70 year-old Frankfort, Ind., resident paid for the truck with change he had collected since 1994, when he bought another truck with spare change he collected from usuing vending machines at his Chrysler auto plant workplace."
Well, gee, I haven't wrote about my weekend in a while, but maybe that's because I haven't been doing anything interesting. The same holds. But I'm going to tell you about it anyway.
Friday night we went to TGI Friday's. We met my hubby's brother's family and a co-worker. Ugh. I'm afraid I really don't care for that restaurant and haven't been to a TGI Friday's in AGES, but I actually enjoyed my meal this time so I can't complain. Too much. (It would have been nice if I could tell if there was any tequila in that margarita I had though)
The next day I got my hair re-highlighted. Hooray! My roots were awful (to me), but my hairdresser assured me it was good to wait so long so she has something to color. I found the whole two hour commitment very productive, though. As I sat under the dryer, I actually sketched out some scenes for my next chapter. So that was all good.
Later that night we hired a babysitter and met some friends at a GREAT restaurant. We went here. and had a wonderful dinner and a super time catching up with friends. Actually, I'd like to go back there for Mother's Day.
After church on Sunday, I read. Yep. Read. Ah, bliss. I won some books over at the Harlequin American Blog so I started AND finished a few of those.
So that's it. I'm relieved of my "room mom" duties today, so I'm thinking I'll run over to the gym then start my next chapter.
What did you do this weekend?

Hey! You got a trip to the beauty parlor AND out to dinner two nights in a row?
From where I'm sitting that looks pretty darn interesting!
Nice weekend. I'm with you about TGI Friday's, but I do love their fried green bean with wasabi sauce appetizer.
Glad to hear you're working on the next chapter. Walt and Georgie left me wondering what would happen next.
Free books are a big plus any day! The restaurant is beautiful...glad you had a great weekend.
Sounds great, Jennifer! Blissful. :)
I'm reading Susan Elizabeth Phillip's book This Heart of Mine. It's not new, but it's good!
My husband took me on a date this weekend, too. We went to Balls, the sports bar and grill within walking distance of our house, to watch the Pats playoff game. Normally, I'd snore my way through this, but it was so good to get away from the kids and out into the world...and the game was fun. Nothing like sitting on the edge of your barstool while sipping a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat Ale and eating cheese fries...
Have a great week!
