Viva la Salsa Verde

IN THE NEWS: "BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. - An "eternal" flame at Bullhead City's new veterans memorial park that only lasted until city officials received a $961 gas bill has been re-lit following complaints by veterans groups." Read more here.

Meet my latest addiction: Pace's Salsa Verde.

Oh. My. Goodness. I'm hooked! I put this stuff on everything. Well...almost everything. In fact, I took that New Orleans Style Chicken recipe I posted last week, smothered it in Salsa Verde, and wrapped it in a flour tortilla and thought I was in heaven. It was THAT GOOD. I'm telling you, if you like a little spice (or in my case, a lot of spice) you must try this stuff.

That's my public service announcement for the day. (You're welcome)

On another cooking note, I was at a fundraiser this weekend and happened to see a few women from my Christmas cookie swap. They absolutely could not gush more about those Pecan Caramel cookies I made. The quote I seem to remember from one of the women was "I know it wasn't a competition, but you definitely won."

Woo-hoo! Oh. Um, I mean, it wasn't a competition, so it's no big deal.

(Boo-yah!!!!)

And now for a completely unrelated note, my Christmas tree is still up. Yeah, I'm afraid so. The ornaments are off, but the lights are still on (even as type right this minute).

I'm sure Christmas will end sometime this week...

Please don't judge me.

Girl, you sure are a "foodie." My son-in-law (the chef) would love hanging out with you ...

Don't worry about the tree. As long as you're not having company, nobody will see it!

Well, my real Christmas tree fell over early New Year's morning and almost all the decorations fell off onto the floor. We couldn't believe it and the crash woke us up. We think the wind was so strong and is what caused it. The tree was in front of a window. A few ornaments were broken.

Thanks for recipe - will try it. Sounds great.

I also get nervous trying salsa - I don't really like anything too spicy or hot (I know...I write erotica...but let's not go there!)

Is this terrible spicy?

No one is judging you...you just the opposite of those who put their tree up before Halloween, right? ;oD

Perhaps we were separated at birth, because I've been on a salsa verde kick too. Hotrod loves it and will pretty much eat anything that I pour it over. It's amazing on fish. Or so he tells me. It's been a while since I've eaten. LOL

Hubby and I like salsa. We don't have it very often though. It's not as easy to find over here in NZ.

The neighbor down the road still has his Nativity scene up in the garden. It's big and has lights. We were wondering when he was going to take it back down last night. ;-)
