Just a Quickie

MOOD STATUS: "Worried". Still trying to finish up my work in progress.

This is going to be quick because
A) I have writing to do (don't we all?) and
B) I need to go the gym so I can claim a treadmill before they're all taken up.

I had a nice weekend--but tiring. And you know what? I forgot to mention that I went and saw the band Survivor on Friday.

Yes, seriously.

But before you judge me on my musical preferences, let me first say that the concert was for a fundraiser for our school. They were...interesting. They sounded pretty good but perhaps the three hour guitar solo could have been trimmed down a tad. (Slight embellishment--but only SLIGHT)
"Eye of the Tiger" rocked, at least.

Nuff on that subject.

Went to a child's birthday party on Sunday. That was really fun! The kids did the bobbing for apples thing. Or what my friend and I called "bobbing for swine flu". LOL!

Sorry! I know, I know. I shouldn't joke about that. But you get a little punchy at these things.

I'm trying to plan a trip right now, too. More on this at a later post...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's it for me. So I'll leave you with what my child and her friend did yesterday while I wrote: They painted pumpkins in the garage.
Do you honestly know any Survivor song other than "Eye of the Tiger"?
I thought I didn't, but then I was surprised when I recognized a few more. :)
The only other Survivor song I remember is "Burning Heart." That one was from Rocky too.
The pumpkins are cute!
Hmmm, don't know too many Survivor songs. I do know "Eye of the Tiger" though. Sounds like you had a great holiday weekend.
I have a lot of writing to do today too. Thanks for your comment on my son. And for your prayers. I'm on a mission today to tell all my bloggy friends how much I appreciate them. Jennifer, thanks for being my bloggy bud and I really am thankful for ya. :)
Nope. Can't think of any Survivor songs. I love the pumpkins, though. They did a great job.
I used to run to Eye of the Tiger, though I would not picture myself as Rocky. Bobbing for swine flu is classic!
Haha! Last week I sang that song to myself and a friend as we struggled to walk a long, exhausting distance in the hot sun. It made the experience a lot more fun!
i thought survivor was like another one-hit wonder band. i even asked my music-savvy husband what else thay sang and his prompt answer was, "nothing you'd know." i wasn't sure if i should be offended....but it sounds like no one else really knows anything else they sang, either. :)
OK You win the good mom award. My DD carved a pumpkin and suggested I put it up on my blog.... Um I have not done this as of yet, but there's still time, right?
Confession: I had a Survivor tape as a teen. That said, I had a ton of tapes, and many were considered cool. ;)
The pumpkins are really cute! I look forward to hearing about the trip.
I'm not so clear on just what a survivor song is, but what about that disco tune, I Will Survive, would that fit the bill?
I didn't even know that was the name of the band who sang it! hehe
Cute pumpkins and good job distracting them with crafts!:-D
I'm not sure I would be able to sit through Survivor, worthy cause or not.
And I thought we had adopted most of our cultural identity from American Television.
Can't say we paint gourds often though .... we mostly eat them.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of any of their other songs! Cute pumpkins!
