Saying I Love You the Techno Way

MOOD STATUS: "Excited". I have the house to myself. FINALLY!

Well, Valentine's Day is coming up soon! And I have...nothing for my hubby.

Hey, I blame the snow!

PS. He can't use that excuse.

Anyway, I'm a simple gal. I don't ask or expect any extravagant tokens of love. I don't even ask for flowers. (Although that would be appreciated, honey) A nice card and a box of...say...chocolate covered pretzels would make me happy. See? Simple gal.

But alas, some of you out there may not be like me. Luckily, last week on the news I saw some really cool gadgets for Valentine's day (thanks to Clayton Morris) that I will now share with you and you can share with your significant other:

1) Say I Love with Music: Buy an Ipod shuffle (they come in so many pretty colors!) and download love songs on it for your honey bunny.

Isn't that sweet?

2) Say I Love You with Books: E-readers are all the rage now. Somewhat. And now those pocket readers are pretty reasonable. Somewhat. your honey bunny one (they even come in purple and pink and red) and download some romance novels on it!

Brilliant idea!

3)Say I Love You with Pictures: (My hubby actually did this for me as part of my Mother's day gift last year) You can create a personalized book of photos. Hardcover--almost looks like a yearbook. Download your pictures to a site like Snapfish, Shutterfly, or Picaboo and create a very nice keepsake...for your honey bunny.

I love mine!

Personally, I'm hoping for some sushi on Sunday. Maybe a card. I know, shameful being a romance author and all.
My hubby treats me special all year so Valentine's day isn't really that big of a holiday for me.
But again, I'm a simple gal. :)

What about you?
Do any of these tokens of affection interest you?
Are you doing anything special for Valentine's Day?

OH I am a romantic but only in watching movies and books. We normally don't do anything but maybe we will splurge and go see Dear John-that would be romantic!

Chicki said...

I'm the romantic in our house. DH doesn't have a romantic bone in his body, so rather than be disappointed and frustrated, I told him a few years back that I don't want to acknowledge V day. No cards, nothing.

Since I'm a gadget girl, any of those would make me smile if we did the gift thing.

Isn't that funny? I think I was more into Valentine's day when I was single. LOL!

Hm, being a writer, I'd like to try out one of the e-readers and see what all the rage is. And any time I don't have to cook dinner it's a treat, so dinner out would be a perfect gift. Happy Valentine's Day to you!

books do it for me. But so do poems or just spending the day with the man I love.

Valentine's Day is also Hotrod's birthday and I have something very special planned, but it's a big surprise. I'm sure I'll blog about it on Monday.

Gifts is not one of my love languages. But, some time alone together is always nice. :)

What sweet ideas. We're not doing anything but spending time together. Time is free (despite the old adage).

I would drool over a B&N gift certificate or even some white roses. I'm simple too. Never expect or demand much.

I bought him a Life is good T-shirt and the movie Defiance (very good and only $8 at TJ Maxx).

Out to eat tonight. Here's to hoping you feel loved this Valentines Day.

I'm getting my hubby a new wedding ring. (Black Tungsten comfort band with the LOTR writing on it) And a game called The Witcher. I have no idea what that one actually is but it was on his wishlist.

It's not just for valentine's day though. It's also our 11th anniversary sunday.

He's already gotten me something and is very excited about giving it to me. (came from barnes and noble....hmmmmmm.....he had no idea I would immediately recognize the bag when he walked in the house with it. hehehe)

Oh and I'm making a chocolate mousse cake. I say making cause it's still in the process...It's a 2 day process. Oy!

A cheap card with well-thought-out words is all I require. And maybe a date...With a two-year-old in the house, those are few and far between these days.

I don't do anything special for V-Day because I'm usually on the other side of the counter, making flower arrangements and taking orders. :)

Thanks for the photo idea! I hadn't thought of that.

My husband and I like to do little things for each other all year long. I usually try and surprise him on Valentine's by making him something. One year, I took a tree branch, put it in a terracotta pot filled with florist's foam and tied lines from a poem to every branch. I like unique :)

Happy weekend,

I'm hoping for sushi as well. Plus, I bought the notebook (movie to watch with hubby. He's not afraid to cry and once in a while I like to see it ;)

I there anything better than chocolate covered pretzels? I think not. You've got the crunchy, the salty, all mixed with the chocolatey. Very Yummy stuff. Hope you have a great time on Valentines. I want new perfume and a box of See's nut candies. And...there's no snow on the ground out here so I don't foresee any hinderances.

Angie Ledbetter said...

Aww, all the best to you on Valentine's Day, and a bit of Mardi Gras Mambo to boot.

Jemi Fraser said...

My hubby & I don't usually do much for Valentine's Day - restaurants are nuts, but we usually order in rather than cook.

Linda Lee Foltz said...

I'd have to go with the "I'm a Romantic" group, but, we tend to avoid the crowds on News Years Eve and Valentines Day. Being Rushed or fed food that's mass produced doesn't meet my criteria for a slow romantic meal. So we're staying home and enjoying the evening with friends. There's plenty of other days (363) to be home alone or to go out to dinner.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

In our home we don't do big on Valentine's Day. I got the girls each a pair of the Olympic mittens and a Valentine kinder egg. For hubby I got a card that opens to Shania Twain's You are the One song belting out and a Valentine Kinder egg too. So simple. So sad. But I prefer to think every day is a day to show my love so Feb. 14th isn't all that big to me.

I've on all occasions liked things like sand clocks, lava lamps, and the like to good of virtuous dish out all at once staring at it as a form of catharsis. In a way, it helps me with meditation, to reduce emphasis and decent think about nothing. That's why since I was a kid, in preference to of dolls and cars I've perpetually at ease more of such pieces like sand clocks, lava lamps, tuneful boxes etc. So I was most delighted when I start the 2-Laser + LED Light Manifest Laser Crown Gyroscope with Music Effects from protection the Toys section. It's like a musical thump, a spinning head, and a radiance reveal all rolled into one. Which is capacious entertainment! The gyroscope pleasure outing representing about a minute. The laser light manifest with accompanying music makes this gyroscope a pretty unequalled tiny that my friends be subjected to also been most amused with.

My dogs are also nice-looking curious prevalent the laser gyroscope I got from They each follow the gyroscope as it spins, although at earliest they kept barking at the laser diverting dismiss show, and also because it produces music. But after they got tempered to it, they've stopped barking but due maintain following the gyroscope whenever I start spinning it. Kids are also attractive amused by it. On occasion it's meet to possess pleasing toys on all sides the lineage so that you can leave the bit of frippery trifle with on while the kids are being amused or playing with it while you open to get up viands or fall heir to changed. The gyroscope is a particular such fool with with this purpose.

The gyroscope I bought from has a dragon as a intent plot on it, and produces a taper show with red, dispirited, and green colours. Nick a look at the pictures I've uploaded of the gyroscope with laser luminosity show. The music produced from the gyroscope is not that great but allowable sufficiency to accommodate any redone roomer to the house. The gyroscope is red and raven, making it look extraordinarily imperturbable, and measure virile with that dragon imprint.

The music dismount attack make clear gyroscope runs on 6 LR44 batteries, which are replaceable anyway. I've also utilized this gyroscope to their heels my girlfriend during our anniversary celebration. I did the cheesy thing of decorating the pension elbow-room with roses and when I led her in, I started up the gyroscope as rise so that the laser torchlight show produces a romantic effect. I also had some battery operated candles so all the understanding effects created a rather mawkish atmosphere. She loved it, not later than the way, to my relief. I also bought the candles from These days it seems to be my oversight shopping put for all gifts and ideas in compensation romanticist occasions.

Since Christmas is coming, this laser light show gyroscope can dialect mayhap be a superb Christmas gift looking for the toddler or in spite of the mollycoddle! Alternatively, the gyroscope can really be a polite addition to the established Christmas decorations. I can take it as given placing it within a mile of the Christmas tree and peradventure spinning it when guests arrive in the house. Looks like is getting my duty anyway again!
