Monday Musings

MOOD STATUS: "Distracted". Got behind on a few things I need to get done because I was sick last week.

WEEK OF P90X: Ten.

I really wanted to title this post "random thoughts"--but it didn't rhyme with Monday. So I had to get creative, hence the "Monday Musings". It sort of works. :)

Anyhew, as noted above, I'm a little distracted because I have so much to catch up on this week. So allow me to ramble (another word that doesn't rhyme with Monday) and clear my mind.

1) My neighbor offered to take my kidlet to the school carnival with his son on Saturday. I said, "Great!" My kidlet then came home with pink stripes in her hair and FIVE goldfish (really six goldfish but one died in transit)

2) I'm almost finished painting the kidlet's room. She picked two colors: blue and yellow. So I'm painting two walls Regal blue and two walls Daffodil yellow. It's going to looks super cute when I'm done.

3) I still can't taste anything. (because of my cold). The good news is that I think I lost a little extra weight as a result.

4) I skipped one day of P90x (because of my cold) But it was only Yoga, so I don't feel too guilty.

5) I love that new Secret Millionaire show.

6) I'm really excited because on Thursday I got TWO books that have been on my TBR list for ages.

7) We need to buy a new digital camera. I have one of those old ones with the postage size stamp screen now. I have it narrowed down to two. But there's a $200 price difference, and I'm torn. But we're going on vacation soon so I need to make a decision soon. UGH!

8) I missed a few days of writing last week (because of my cold) so I need to make those words up this week so I can still make my Book In Three Month Challenge.

Whew! That feels really good to get that all out.

How about you? Any musings or random thoughts you'd care to share?

I agonized over buying a camera the last time, too -- SO many choices!! I ended up with a Nikon P100. It's more than a basic point and shoot, but not as complex as a "real" camera. I've had it since last November and have been incredibly happy with it.

Good luck!

You only missed one day of your workout? That's dedication...but I bet all the working out helped you combat the cold.

My kidlet has been sick all weekend. He woke up with a fever at 4am so I'm keeping him home today.

Happy pi day! (3.14)

Hopefully this has fully rejuvenated you. Speaking the truth rids you of all your toxins (or so I'm telling myself).

I love the color for the kidlets room! Sounds super cute!

Good luck kicking the rest of your cold and getting back to the workout. I, too wouldn't feel guilty for missing the yoga part :)

For being sick, you got a lot done! I would have laid in bed all week--lol.
I have a hectic week ahead of me--packing for my trip to WA on Friday, training at work and attending a funeral for a friend besides hair appts, nails etc.

So many things to respond to...five goldfish...really?

My mom loves that secret millionare share, too. I need to check it out.

And I'm dying to know which books you got.

That's quite a mix (here's there's an M-word) of events.

Hope you're feeling better.

I have one sick kidlet. So, my only goal this week is get her well. If I'm successful, I hope to crank out at least a few thousand words before my critique group meets next week.

I'm wondering which camera you'll get. I need to replace mine, too, and have been putting it off for too long.

Sometimes it's just so therapeutic to get this kind of stuff out there. :) Hope you have a great week and continue to feel better!

Oh, boo! I hate colds and some 48 hour bug this past week and got behind on a few things. I love blue and yellow, I'm sure that room will be super cute! Um, things I need to catch up on...writing mostly. I have zero ability to write when I feel sick (and last week would have been perfect with all the rain and overcast for the scenes I have to do, now it's sunny and warm and I want to go play!)
I hope your feeling better!

Hope your immune system tackles that cold and kicks it to the curb for good!

Seems like that cold really took you off your game for a few days! Glad you're back and feeling better :)

Aw! I'm so sorry for the nasty cold. I hope you are feeling better soon. And way to go on the P90x! I would have taken a break for a week if I had a cold. =)

I hope you'll post a photo of your daughter's room when you finish. Love that color combo.

My only random thought at the moment is that I need more caffeine.

You call that rambling???? Oh honey, we need to go out for coffee so you can see what real rambling is. It was great to catch up though. Hope the fish are in water and the stripes are out of the hair.

Go for the more expensive camera. You won't be sorry!

Your daughter's room sounds adorable! Post a pic if you can. I have those two colors in my fiesta dishes and I love putting them together! So pretty and cheerful. It shouts of spring!

Hope you get everything done and that you feel better soon!

As if a cold wasn't bad enough... missing writing is even worse. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Curl up with a hot mug of tea and those new books!

#5 = Oh, I do too.

Now I sure hope that cold is releasing you and life returns to normal soon :)

I need to get a new digital camera, too. I don't know what to get and that always puts me off. If you get a great super-duper deal that does everything easily, let me know.

Sometimes I skip Yoga too. It's not my favorite. I've got painting projects I need to get started on as well. You're motivating me to do it! Feel better soon.

Have not watched the Millionare show yet but have gotten into a new sci-fi one (head hanging in shame now) Being Human. It's got Diane written all over it. Have a good week Hans or are you Franz??? :O)

Those colds are terrible, aren't they? They don't put you completely out of commission, they they do mess up the routine a little.

We have all sorts of random things going on here. Two kiddos sick for the past two weeks, but we've gotten a lot done at home. We're building a new room for my oldest daughter, so when the baby is born she has somewhere to stay :) That means I get to paint and decorate two bedrooms and I'm having trouble narrowing it down. I pretty much love everything! And I brainstormed a new story that I might actually get to start plotting soon once I finish the last round of edits on my other story. Can't wait! Hope you have a great week.

Hope your cold is all better.

And tell your kidlet pink-striped hair is cool. ;)

Your daughter's room sounds summer-fresh and bright.
Sorry you have been suffering with the cold.
WOW! Imagine seeing Secret/Undercover Millionaire for the first time - I envy you. :)

Bad cold. Evil cold. I hope you'll get well soon!

I do love the sound of your daughter's room :-)

My random thought is why can't I sleep later than 5am, especially on the weekend?

Colds screw everything up, don't they?

I'm trying to squeeze writing it, but there's so much going on lately. I got part of a chapter written on Saturday.

It's amazing how much can be affected by a cold. Hope you're feeling a little better.

Those stinky colds can really impact your life! Looks like its affected you in more ways than one. What did you end up doing about the pink stripes???

Hope you're feeling better!

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better! There are so many great cameras out there and on-line reveiws by users. The mistake I made buying my Canon was buying the kit lens that came with it. I'd wish I'd more than read the research, and actually acted on other buyers advise!

Oh - Secret Millionaire is great! Have you done some consumer research on the two camera's you like? Maybe someone's comments will sway you one way or the other.

Tana said...

How funny about your daughter! Did the neighbor apologize? lol! I'm sorry you're still sick. Feel better. I hope you make up for your missed writing days as well.

Oh goodness! I laughed out loud at what happened at the carnival. Hehe. I hope the pink streaks come out successfully. No real musings to share. Just chilling. :)

Bless you, I like the 'because of my cold' parentheses; I can truly empathise. Pink striped in her hair and goldfish? Sounds like a great day out.:O)

Well, it's my turn to have a cold this week, and it's kickin' my tushy! Every day I feel like I'm moving through molasses (when I'm not coughing like I'm dying, that is).

I vote you "go for it" with the new camera. My bet is, in the long run it will be worth the extra money. Are you going with a digital SLR?
