Blogging Challenge: Day 3!

Hey, all!

I had a really great--but EXHAUSTING weekend for my daughter's birthday.

Too bad the letter today isn't E today or I'd tell you all about it. :) I guess it'll have to wait.

Instead, the letter is C:

C is for cupcakes!

I asked for (and received) a great cupcake cookbook for Christmas, called Hello, Cupcake. I saw it around this time last year on TV and mentioned to my hubby that I would love to get that book. I LOVE cupcakes. They're like little perfect portions of cake. LOL

Anyhew, this cookbook gives you lots of fun ideas for creative cupcakes and well as some great recipes for the icings and cake. My kiddo likes to look through it a lot too. So when I asked her what kind of birthday cake she wanted, she immediately pointed to a page in this book.

Being the good mommy that I am, I happily obliged. And these were the results:

Yes, I made Beagles and Dalmatians for her (the easier of all the dog recipes, but still a pain to make). She loved them. :-)

Not too shabby of an attempt, I must say. And now that my first try with creative cupcakes is over, I offered to make cupcakes for the family for Easter too. Oh, my gosh, you should see the cute recipes for that! Will definitely post pictures-- if they come out.

I'd also like to mention that the character in the book I'm working on now has just opened up her own bakery and made the cutest cupcakes for her friend's baby shower. (A little reality mixed with fiction there since I was inspired) LOL

Are you a cupcake person? Have you ever made any fancy/creative cakes or cupcakes?

C is for CUTE CUPCAKE blog post. I love cupcakes and yours are really cute. Problem with cupcakes, it's hard to make one at a time, so I wind up eating more than 1 or 2 or 3 or....see?

I love cupcakes.
They seem to stay moister( or more moist?) than one big cake.
Plus they are just fun.
Yours are cute.

Those are adorable!!!

I went to a birthday party for 4yos at an art studio. I want to create a character now who owns a studio like that.

Those are so cute! I'll have to check out that book. I love cupcakes, but so far I've only made the usual (aka: boring) kinds. I'd like to try my hand at these creative cupcakes! They'd be a big hit this summer at cookouts and parties.

How cute were they?! I love cupcakes. Heck, I love cake period. It seems, at least here where I live, specialty cupcake shops are taking over. But man, they make amazing treats. Can't wait to see the Easter ones.

What adorable cupcakes! I took Wilton cake decorating classes years ago when my kids were very young because I wanted to be able to make fancy birthday cakes for them. And I did for many years, but now life is so busy it's been a long time since I've made a cake. I have a special Easter lamb cake I love to make (my grandma made it when I was a kid, and it's a wonderful Easter memory, so when I found the pan for it I just had to buy it!), so I'll get to make that soon.
