The Next Big Thing
Happy Friday!
My bloggy friend, author Romy Sommer invited me to take part in a blog event entitled
THE NEXT BIG THING -
a series
of questions and answers about what’s happening next in my writing life.
Fun, right?
Well, it IS.
So here it is:
The Next Big Thing
What is the title of
your book? KISSING KENDALL
What genre does your book fall under? Romance (sweet romance)
Which actors would you choose to play your characters if it were a movie?
Emma
Roberts would play “Kendall”
Bradley Cooper would play "Brad"
(original, I know)
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A young widow must
decide if she’s ready to move on with her love life—with her deceased husband’s
best friend. Will your book be self-published or traditional?
Traditional (Entangled’s BLISS imprint)
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? If you're not done, how far along are you into the first draft?
The longest EVAH.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Who or What inspired you to write this book? Enough people and reviewers who read GEORGIE ON HIS MIND who hinted that they wanted me to write Brad’s story.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Even though it’s kind of a sad story (due to my heroine being a widow) it really does has sprinkles of humor mixed in as well.
And a cute little puppy.
And donut muffins!
See? I told you that was fun!
Now I must invite 3 to 4 other writers to share too.
So I would love to hear THE NEXT BIG THING from Linda Grimes, Carol Kilgore, Julie Jarnagin, and Jessica Lemmon!
Have a GREAT weekend!

I can't wait to read it!
Oooh. Sounds great, Jennifer.
Puppies and muffins! Sign me up.
I've always selected actors and actresses for my characters before writing. Helps me to visualize them.
Great fun. Can't wait to read more.
It sounds like a lovely story!
I love Emma Roberts!! Ergo I must love Kendall already too.
I got called to do the next big thing next Wednesday from Ivy Bateman.
I say any story with donut muffins in it has to be spectacular! Can't wait!
Sounds like a wonderful read. Can't wait to load her onto my kindle!
Oooh, sounds super, Jennifer! It always takes me a looong time to get that first draft down. *sigh* But this book will be terrific with a capital T! I'm in. (I loves me some cute puppies and donut muffins.) :-)
Can;t wait to see a cover for it. :D
Sounds awesome - can't wait!! :)
I never know actors and actresses - I'm always terrified someone will ask me that question & I'll have no clue!!
This sounds so cool! Looking forward to reading Kendall and Brad's story. And not just because I have this thing for Bradley Cooper either - LOL.
Thanks for passing The Next Big Thing on to me. You'll see it soon!
Happy Weekend :)
you had me at muffins...
Sounds like another winner.
Your book sounds wonderful. I love the idea of characters being in more than one book, as leads the second time. Several children's authors do that. I keeps it all in the family and you don't have to say good bye to a beloved character so soon.
