Misc Monday

Happy Monday!

Guess what? I'm trying to potty train my guinea pig.
I was told it could be done. (Although I think someone forgot to tell the guinea pig.)
We're still working on it...
Will keep you posted.

In other news, I hosted a Super Bowl party last night. Found a new drink for it too!
I'm usually a tequila kind of girl. I love margaritas but I wanted to do something different. My friend emailed me a recipe and when I made it, I absolutely LOVED it.
Probably great for the summer, but I thought it went well with chili. :)

It has no name so I'm calling it:

Jennifer's Tired of Margaritas Grapefruit Splash

1/4 c FRESH pink grapefruit juice
1 TBsp FRESH lime juice
2 tsp agave
1/4 tequila
1/4 club soda

Rub rim of highball glass (I used a margarita glass because old habits and whatnot) with lime and dip in salt. Combine juices and agave (or super fine sugar if you don't have it) until sugar dissolved. Add tequila and ice then top off with club soda.

Refreshing and yummy! Not too sweet either, which I like.

On the book front, I'm over at Ex Libris blog sharing some Valentine's Day funnies--ya know since my novella A LITTLE BIT CUPID is kind of a romantic comedy.
Fun stuff!
Stop by and share a funny/ Chance to win a copy of A Little Bit Cupid. :-)

Did you watch the Super Bowl?
What did you think of the half time show?

Don't give up training the guinea pig. My cousins trained a rabbit, so it can be done.

Oh, I'm giggling. I had no idea one could potty train a guinea pig. Good luck with that.

Of course, if you do this, you'll take away one of my last excuses for not getting a guinea pig. :)

BTW, the drink sounds delicious!

Potty training a guinea pig? To use a litter box, you mean? Or an actual toilet? *grin*

Potty training a guinea pig. Will wonders never cease.

I'm probably the only person in the world who did not watch the Super Bowl or half time show. I take that back. I bet Patriots' QB, Tom Brady, didn't watch the game either.

Congrats on your newest book, Jennifer! I LOVE margaritas, and I love trying out new recipes for them even more. I made a peach margarita once, and it was fabulous! Have a great week!!

Ooo, sounds delicious! Will have to make this!

I've never heard that you could potty-train a guinea pig! I'm no surprised though. The ones we had were smart. I wish you lots of luck and definitely keep us posted!! I can't wait to have guinea pigs again. There's no room in my apartment, but once I get a house, I'll be getting guinea pigs again for sure!

Have you seen this blog? http://guineapigging.wordpress.com It's so freaking cute, told from the POV of the guinea pigs! I discovered it during last year's A-Z Challenge.

You're potty training your guinea pig? Okay, that is just too cool!

Really? You're gonna potty train your guinea pig?? Wow. I'm duly impressed. Good luck with that.

That drink sounds good, but a lot of us oldsters can't have grapefruit juice because of medications we take. (And I really miss being able to eat a grapefruit half in the morning.)

I watched and enjoyed the football game, but didn't pay any attention to the commercials or halftime show. I know. I should turn in my female credentials, huh?

Oh goodie! I'm normally a margarita girl as well. I look forward to trying this recipe.

And potty training a guinea pig, hmmm? That does sound like a most interesting challenge. I look forward to reading how it works out. Ha, ha!

Like ... training it to use a litter box? Or training it to use the potty?

I am trying to imagine a guinea pig climbing up on a toilet.

And I can't believe someone potty trained a rabbit (as per comment above.) I thought they were the dumbest animals on earth. (Okay, the fact that I have never held a rabbit that didn't pee on me may have prejudiced me against them.)

"potty train my guinea pig" Boy, that evokes some imagery right there!

It is funny about you trying to potty train the guinea pig. We had two gerbils. They had a house to play and sleep in. We had another little plastic house so we put it in their cage. Then next day or two, we noticed that they had used the new house as a "toilet" and went up there to do their business. And they always did.

I did not know you could train a guinea pig to do that. My sons had them when they were young but we kept the guinea pigs in their cages. Let us know how it goes! :)
