Marriage Matters
Happy Monday, all!
Hey, did you know it's National Marriage Week? (Feb 7th -14th)
I saw this on the news and forgot about it, but then I started going through old folders and finding cards my hubby and I sent to one another when we were first married and now I'm all nostalgic. :)
My hubby is famous for decorating the outside of the envelope to any card he gives me (see card above) --creating the stamp, etc... And yes, he calls me "bun", short for Hunna Bunna.
Long story...
Okay. Not really long, just saving you from rolling your eyes or getting sick.
Sadly, marriage is on the decline when you look at the statistics. So the goals of this week, based on the website are:
1) To elevate marriage as a national issue in the media and with policy leaders.
2) To promote the benefits of marriage, that stronger marriages bring economic stability to individuals and to the nation, and provides the best environment for thriving children.
3) To create a national calendar for existing, trusted marriage classes, conferences and events where people can find the help they need, or reach out to help others.
Anyhew, this song by The Proclaimers reminds me of my hubby and when we got engaged.
Enjoy...
Are you married? Does your hubby call you any special term of endearment?

We'll celebrate our 42nd anniversary this year--and are big cheerleaders for marriage! Thanks for this post :-) And nicknames? They change every day. Too many to count.
I visited another blog recently where the question of marriage and divorce came into debate. I was sad to see so many people disillusioned and bitter about marriage. There were a lot of unhappy people.
Like Kenda, I'm in the happy camp. 39 years and counting.
My favorite nickname my husband uses for me is Mule. I work hard and keep on kickin'. :)
I married my best friend 34 years ago! Nicknames? Sure he uses them. Heck, I don't think he's called me by my given name in ages! Haha! :)
After being a foster parent for four years, I'm a firm believer that marriage is the best foundation for kids.
We'll celebrate 23 years this May 1.
Yay! Congrats, everyone. I will be celebrating 19 years in June.
I'm all for marriage! I've been married to my best friend/soul mate for 33 years. He's fond of calling me "kiddo." :)
Lovely post. My husband and I celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary this year.

Himself and I grew up next door to each other so we've known each other a very long time. We'll be married 29 yrs in August. We call each other Kid as in Hey, Kid, want to go see a movie?
My husband and I have been married for 25 years and I'm so thankful for him.
As for nicknames, he calls me "Conbin." I don't really remember how it started...
Thirty years in September. Would never change it! This is an important post. Thanks!
Cute envelope ;). I've been married 20yrs now :). I think I read somewhere that married people live longer...
Hunna Bunna, love it! And what a cute envelope! 38 years here.
Married forever, I think. Or at least a year :)
But no nicknames.
I'm in the married camp and have been for 32 years. No nicknames - thank goodness!
We're fans of marriage here! Been married to my sweet guy for 33 years. (I was a child bride.:) Love your nickname, so cute!
Just stopped by to say, hey. Hope you had a great Valentine's Day.
Aww, I miss the Proclaimers!
Love your term of endearment :-) We've got a few too - and my parents have a special whistle!
