American Idol is Baaaaaaaaack!
IN THE NEWS: According to Fox News, "A man accidentally shot himself in the groin as he was robbing a convenience store. A clerk told police a man carrying a semiautomatic handgun entered the Village Pantry Tuesday morning demanding cash and a pack of cigarettes. The clerk put the cash in a bag and as she turned to get the cigarettes, she heard the gun discharge.
Surveillance video shows the man shooting himself as he placed the gun in the waistband of his pants, police said. The clerk wasn't injured. A short time later, police found 25-year-old Derrick Kosch at a home with a gunshot wound to his right testicle and lower left leg. He was expected to have surgery at a hospital. Police plan to charge him with armed robbery."
I'm pretty happy with how my writing is coming along thus far. (Anybody know where I can get a new word meter?) I managed to write a few pages yesterday just so I could completely relax and watch American Idol last night. I was so giddy yesterday, waiting for it to air. I felt like Jerry Seinfeld when he, George, and Kramer started doing the the funny voice ("hellllllllllo") again.
"I'm just so glad it's back." :)
They were in Philadelphia last night! (where I was born) Yay! Of course that didn't mean the people were any more normal.
But last night had some real tearjerker scenes as well. Who's heart didn't break into a million pieces when that Temperance girl started to cry? The poor thing. I thought the judges were very sweet to her at least. And what about the woman with the child with Rett's syndrome? I really hope she does well in Hollywood.
Last night saw its share of strange things as well. I won't go into them, because I'm afraid it would take way too long but I think I speak for all of you who watched when I say...
What was the deal with Joan Jett?
I mean, "I Love Rock and Roll" is an okay song, but come on. I couldn't believe that many people decided to sing it.
Today I'm going to make sure I get everything I need to get done so I can watch in peace again tonight.
Are you an American Idol fan?

I'm an Idol fan, but I don't have the patience to watch all of the preliminary stuff. When they get down to the top thirty, then I'll put it on my schedule.
Here's another meter site for you:

Glad you're happy with your writing progress. That's a good feeling, isn't it?
I totally didn't know Idol started last night! We have church tonight, but I'll have put that on the agenda for next time since all of my shows are affected by the writers strike right now! ARGH!
(Creeping away from Jen's blog because I'm afraid to admit in the midst of all the fan squee that even the American Idol commercials get on my nerves)
=)
I'm a big Idol fan too. Have to watch from first episode until the finale.
Very scary people out there. What about Princess Leia?
Oh...I can't watch Idol. In the beginning, it's because so many people make fools of themselves, and I feel bad for them.
Near the end, I can't watch because people are just so close, and then they get tossed off. And--I feel bad for them.
In the middle, I don't really care.
So, Jennifer. When you watched Idol, did you make toast for a snack?
Oh! Have you seen the promo's for Randy's show on A&E, for hiphop dancers? That looks like fun. I might watch that, because I just can't figure out how anyone can make some of those moves and not hurt their back.
Yeah. I'm over forty.
