Books! Glorious books!

MENTAL STATUS: "Chipper". Meeting my writing goals and now almost done my chapter 14. Woo-hoo!

I think I mentioned my brother's birthday, and as any good writing sister would, I bought him a book. And as any selfish sister would, I also decided to buy myself a book.

Or two.

The internet makes it entirely too easy. I mean, these books are just a click away. I'm only human, okay? Give me a break here.

Anyhew, I was thrilled to see Lani Diane Rich has a new book out. I just love her writing. Funny as all get out. So--not being able to help myself-- I ordered A Little Ray of Sunshine.
This is supposed to be different than her other books--still Chick-lit but a little more heartwarming. I don't know. We'll see. Sounded good to me, though.

Then, in keeping with my Young Adult Romantic Comedy interest, I ordered Puppy Love by Nancy Krulik. I'm on chapter three right now and I have to say it's very cute so far.

That's all. So, how about you? Buy any books lately?

I bought the new J.R. Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood book last Tuesday. It only contains an 80-page short story, but tons of info on her writing process, her complete proposal for the series, and a whole lot of background stuff -- kinda like the director's comments, deleted scenes and bloopers on a DVD. I'm loving it!

When is your conference, BTW?

I'm finally starting the big hard-cover I got of Nora's High Noon...I know, I know...I'm a little behind in my reading.

What I would do for a day to sit down and read...or write! BTW, I'm going to do the NANO, any ideas how to get back into a characters head after you've been away for a loooong time?

The last book I bought was Deidre Knight's Red Fire, the first in her new Spartan warriors series.

*sigh* Does the library count? I'm going to blog about books this week... i feel deprived. I don't read enough anymore.

I'm always tempted to buy at walmart. Self-control...and having to explain where that 10 dollars went seems to work pretty well for me. OH...and wanting to move. (gotta save those penny's for a rainy day.) LOL

I haven't bought in a book in ages, but I just did get the first Sookie Stackhouse book from the library today. Does that count?
