Two Happy Moments

Happy Friday, all!

Well, my new counters are in! In short: they're GORGEOUS.
Whew! What a relief!

I was so nervous about the color I picked. I kept thinking, Brown? Really?
What were you thinking? But it turns out that it's really pretty because it's neutral but also different because of the little flecks of blue in it.
I don't think the pictures do it justice, but I took them anyway. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE BACK SPLASH IS GOING AND COUNTER STOOLS ARE COMING NEXT WEEK.

I expanded the island a bit. And check out the fridge!

I took a close-up picture of the granite. It's hard to tell but it looks like there are little crushed jewels sprinkled in.

My new sink. It's a Blanco Silgranit in the color "Truffle". It's way bigger and deeper than my old sink. Woo-hoo!
More pictures to come as more things change... I'm hoping to have everything completed my Christmas.
A happy moment for sure. :-)

In another happy moment, I was editing a chapter this week to give to a critique partner and made a pleasant discovery. It had been a long time since I looked over what I'd written, so I had one of those "Did I really write that?" LOL! It was that good.
I haven't had that in a long time--if ever.
Let's hope my critique partner is as impressed...
Have you ever been super surprised and impressed with what you've written before?
Any happy moments this week you'd like to share?

Gorgeous!

I think that's close to the color I chose too. And the sink looks similar, but darker.

Let me know how you like the one big sink as opposed to the double sink. I've always been used to the double and it's handy to separate dishes. But I haven't yet ruled out the one big sink either.

Your kitchen looks great. I think I'm going to send your blog post to hubby as a means of intimidation, so he can get the lead out. :)

Great kitchen, but seriously, I would have taken your old one. You should see mine, okay well maybe not.

I had a writing "moment" yesterday when my pantster melded with my outline and I came up with the reason why my MC hates the idea of marriage. And then I wrote something fantastically fabulous to boot.

I love that feeling.
Have a great weekend!

Your kitchen is gorgoeous! I love the tiny flecks in your countertop. The sink is awesome. I have had that feeling when I've read something I wrote a while ago, it's nice:) I bet your critique partner will be just as impressed. Happy Friday!

Love it! I want to see backsplash and barstools, too. I have a Blanco Silgranite sink, too, except mine is a double with one huge really deep side (large enough for a 12" skillet to sit flat) and one smaller less deep side. You will LOVE it!

Love the new look...those counters are gorgeous! And I have sink envy...mine has that split thing with two sides. SO not really practical.

I had a similar happy writing moment this week but it didn't start off happy. It started off as one of thse "Did I really write that? I'll never be a real writer, everything I write is HORRID." type of moments.

Thankfully after I cleaned up the beginning, I got swept away with the story all over again and stopped editing and started just reading. So I definitely ended it on a much better note, which I consider full of win. :)

Happy weekend...hope you have time to enjoy your new kitchen!

Your counters are warm and modern at the same time. "Jewels" are good. I'll be excited to see the whole effect.

I have been surprised when I pick up some old handwritten notes, just thoughts or essays I did long ago. It isn't the the writing I'm impressed with, but the thoughts. I have had a few good ones over the years.

I had several great moments this week. Thanks for asking.

What a beautiful remodeling job! Earlier this year, I finally got rid of my old (O-L-D) avocado puke green range top and hood and replaced them with modern (and professional, woo HOO) fixtures. Still haven't gone for the new counter tops yet, but they're due. They're O-L-D too. Your new counter tops and sink are both gorgeous.

Beautiful counters! I have a soft spot for granite with gold flecks in it. Lol! My hubby's a builder and builds houses to people's specifications and I've seen a lot of different versions!

But I always stall in the kitchen!

Yours look very gorgeous!
